Think about it, a top 15 light heavyweight would stomp a mud hole in lomachenko, rigo and crawford in the same night. I won't even bring up mico midgets like inoue.
It's not very relevant that a larger fighter would beat a smaller fighter. That doesn't diminish the accomplishments and skill that a smaller fighter has.
P4P lists are too subjective to be used for anything tangible. Newbies to boxing still think they have some actual meaning. But us old folks know better. Let the millennials worry about a useless ranking.
Good point after the first Ward V Kovalev fight where the media wouldn’t give Ward the pound for pound king title he had to go out and win by TKO to the testes to gain that mantle so for me PFP has little meaning
It's good for banter while waiting for contractors to show up to a site. Sometimes I like to argue, sometimes I don't. P4P is some old fashioned construct that The RING magazine has kept alive since the 90s.
We're boxing fans talking about who are the best boxers in the world. It would be stupid not to. The 15th ranked heavyweight might knock out Lomachenko but do you really care there's nothing special about that. Its all about who's the best same for every sport. In Tennis people are more interested by the greatness of Serena Williams than say Martin Del Potro even though he would beat her 10 times out of 10.
It's just fun, sometimes. It's not real though, if you shrink or resize a fighter they'd be completely different.
Its always speculation. Like the fun we have comparing athlete's for different era's or even sports. But its more actual and so as more bikering and marketing value.
