I don't like Margarito at all ... I don't think he has skills and he's just a hard head.

There's very few fighters that I'm a big fan of and always root for them to win.

Most of the time, I root based on the potential of a future matchup. I more or less like Pavlik, but I wanted to see Pavlik-Abraham more so than Pavlik-Calzaghe, so I was glad that Hopkins beat him and Pavlik will stay at 160.

I'm a fan of boxing in general. There's certain fighters I like, style-wise, but I wish boxing had more fans of the sport, as opposed to fans of specific fighters.

The reason this board sucks 95% of the time is that very reason. Nut-hugger fans can't talk in a neutral manner about boxing because it always comes back to their fighter. Which is one of the most annoying things about ANY messageboard.

Be it stupid ass Raider-fan, Cowboys-fan, Bulls-fan, Yankees-fan, Red Sox-fan, etc etc etc...

Being a die-hard fan of any ONE team or any ONE fighters is one of the lamest, dumbest, stupidest things in sports.

It does provide some entertainment however.

I mean, why do delusional fanboys exist? Guys who will defend their fighters every move, lie about things, get offended when you criticize them, etc..?

It is quite simply, a little disturbing that people can get so emotionally vested into an athletes that they do not know.

It always takes more than a couple of fights before I root for a particular fighter...but, once hooked, its for life. It started with SRL, thoug the influence came from my pa whose an Ali diehard. Now, I go for Pacman for his exciting style, but more importantly for his humbleness...
