Are you a casual fan or a hardcore fan?

If you are a casual fan explain why and what fights/fighters you watch and dont watch.

Generally speaking hard core fans will say they are casual and casual fans will say they are harcore.

i would class myself as hardcore. ive spent enough money following boxing, buying magazines, books, collecting fights on video and dvd, and going to fights.
when i first really got into boxing marvin hagler was the middleweight champ, don curry ruled the welterweights and mike tyson was a teenager.
part of me feels old when people on this forum say watching oscar de la hoya or amir khan got them into boxing. jeez, i can remember when their was only 3 world title belts. and fans thought THAT was bad.

Somewhere in between. I've been into it a long time and although I still love it I don't take it as seriously as I used to. There are too many fighters, too many divisions and too many belts for me to keep up with theses days.

I do watch all the big fights and some of the smaller ones, too. I also watch a fair few old fights on YouTube from time to time. As it happens I bought a copy of the Ring today for the first time in ages.

I have a preference for action fighters. Erik Morales was the last fighter to really capture my imagination. Guys like Mayweather and Hopkins, while exceptionally skilled just don't move me. I quite like Brandon Rios.

    in between

I don't feel a need to watch EVERY fight the same way an intentionallbutt would

Not sure. I do a lot of reading on the sport and watch older fights on YouTube when I get the chance to, but my ability to follow present day fights right when they happen is hampered a lot by the fact I'm a college kid and don't have HBO or Showtime, and neither do my parents.

Once I've got my own place and a decent bit of money, though, I'll be sure to reverse that situation though.

up untill a year ago I watched every fight i could but ill be honest being in the UK I dont stay up for fights anymore and only really watch the "big" fights without checking the result to see if its worth my time.

At this point I am very casual

well ive been watching for 15 yrs or so but have been die hard for 10

i go on boxing forums daily watch boxing on youtube every day and know more than the people around me so im not casual

casual would be like ppl who flip it on once in a while

but im not as hard core as ppl on here who will watch fights from across the globe and know every fighter in every weightclass
