I'm somewhat of a fan, so I don't know how to answer this. He's a great boxer, boring to watch, and not anywhere near TBE but might be top close to top 15. Has/had the talent to crack the top 10 but decided that his safety mannered more than his legacy. Nothing wrong with that, but it is what it is. And for the most part his fans don't know **** about boxing.
People don't need to choose Pac over Floyd like one or the other. It's possible to be a fan of many fighters, which some people on this forum don't seem to understand... They are into the DRAMA, the MEN, and their BODIES. I question their motives. REAL fans are into the sweet science, they don't care who wins as long as a good display of boxing is put on. I only hate on HYPE JOBS, because they aren't using sweet science to win fights, they are using carefully crafted match making.
Pac wasn't even mentioned in the thread, but I do agree, it's certainly possible to like both fighters for different reasons.
Yeah, but you did create this thread in response to the other one that was just posted asking people if they were Pac fans. I'm not accusing you but I think a lot of people hate Floyd because they love Pac.
I created both threads :deal I am taking a census of ESB to find out who has more fans. I am a fan of neither. :deal
If you're a fan of boxing it seems to me it would be pretty hard to hate both of them. If you like pure boxing Mayweather's your guy, if you like a guy who is willing to fight and be aggressive, and try getting KO's everytime he steps in the ring, than Pac's your guy. If you like both styles, then both are your guys, but to not like either style is almost like saying you don't like the sport. If you eliminate these two styles, what's left?
I long ago quite keeping score on who does and doesn't do PED's. I pretty much assume they all do and some just don't get caught. And if someone doesn't and makes a splash in the sport, well great for them. PED's isn't a substitute for talent as fighters such as Michael Grant, and Briggs demonstrate. Besides that, the use of PED's is a completely different issue than whether or not I like watching the sport of boxing. If it really bothered me, I would just abandon the sport.
