Nishioka won a competitive, but wide decision. Roman Gonzalez stopped his opponent in the 2nd round, Jorge Linares stopped Jesus Chavez in 4 and Yoshihiro "ref killer" Kamegai stopped Jose Alfaro in the 6th.

Yeah when he knew full well Dunne couldn't take the fight! Peters tried to get the Poon fight pushed back so they could take on Munroe but the WBA wouldn't allow it.

I thought it was a 100k, not a huge payday compared to what Dunne was getting for fights for Peters. They wanted world fights at that stage. Peters and Dunne did whatever they could get Munroe in the ring before Cordoba as well, but it wasn't happening, so take that as what it is, that was only the EBU belt after all.

I think Dunne had a fatal flaw and that was always going to get him caught. Not just a bad chin, but an inability to defend it against power punchers. He had decent footwork, good skill, a variety of punches, and was fairly heavy handed (according to Isreal Vasquez anyway).

I would have favoured him in a fight against Munroe. Munroe would have made it difficult with his size and workrate, but Dunne had the power to keep him in check, and the skills to keep on top. Munroe never had the power to KO Dunne, even with Dunne's chin. It would have been a close fight though, and not guaranteed.
