Are you comfortable with Ali beating up smaller, aging men like Archie Moore and Floyd Patterson?

Yes, by today's standards those are PEDs

Isnt Ozempic primarily a Diabetes drug and the weight loss is a side effect or benefit?

I wouldn’t expect an athlete to take Ozempic since it causes muscle loss. It’ll be interesting if it comes up in the future.

Thyrolar ramps up your metabolism. Before GLP drugs, that’s pretty much what weight loss drugs did. In other words, they were stimulants, which is a classification of PED.

Yes, but variations of it are in development for weight loss if not approved.

It's just way more benefit of doubt then we give to any other fighter. What other fighter can you think of that we would split hairs for if they took any androgynous substance to help them cut weight.
I guess you argue that it's at HW, so there was no need to make weight, but then why take it in the first place?

    You have a point.
From the perspective at the time, Ali fighting a 45 year old Moore would’ve seemed worse from the perspective at the time than Berbick fighting a 39 year old Ali, because Berbick wasn’t to know Ali had Parkinson’s.

Are you that obsessed with Mayweather that you want to discuss him on a thread about Mohammed Ali and Archie Moore?

Archie thought he figured out Clay/Ali and he was going to win.

True, and Charles' win list so deep that Louis isn't even top 10 outside of being the lineal champ.

There's literally no reason to **** on Charles for facing Louis.

Ali probably also thought he’d beat Berbick leading into the fight and spoke like he was confident, even if he was less confident than Moore, Berbick wasn’t to know.
Berbick fighting Ali may look worse now, but considering Berbick had no way of knowing, him twinging the contract to fight Ali from his perspective isn’t worse than Ali twinging the contract for the Moore fight.

He was taking a thyroid drug because he weighed 265 ahead of the Holmes fight which was obviously too much. He weighed in at 217 for the fight. Combine that with Parkinson and you have a guy that should not have been licensed to fight.

I thought he came into camp at 256. The weight wasn't coming off in camp, likely because he was sick and he was cooked.
