Are you comfortable with Ali beating up smaller, aging men like Archie Moore and Floyd Patterson?

Lol. I've already had enough dumb arguments to last a lifetime... I'm not trying to start any more.

That's the way of boxing. When you're young and being built up, you fight the old guys who can further your career. Archie was fighting in the heavyweight division and he was still a name. Ali was only 20 years old. Patterson also chose to fight as a heavyweight. He was a former champion who was still highly rated. Both Ali-Patterson fights were logical at the time. I don't see the reasoning behind even raising the question. Ali was no more a big, bad meanie for fighting Moore and Patterson than any other fighter who ever worked his way to the top and strove to maintain his standing.

Do you feel the same way about Larry Holmes and Trevor Berbick beating up on the hollow shell of Ali? The worm turns. It's the boxing way.

If Floyd Mayweather put on seventy five or so pounds could he "kill" the Mike Tyson who "killed" Michael Spinks? Thank you in advance.

Size and weight are not the same thing, and adding 75 pounds wouldn’t magically turn a welterweight into a heavyweight.

The poster said if Bonavena and Frazier were bigger they would "kill" Muhammad Ali". George Foreman was bigger than Muhammad Ali. Why didn't he "kill" him? Quite a few of Mike Tyson's victims were bigger than him. Why didn't they "kill" him? Could it be that fighters adapt a style that best suits their stature? Would a 6'5 250 pound Mike Tyson still fight out of a crouch? Would a 6'5" Joe Frazier still bob and weave? The irony is all five of his losses and even his wins where Muhammad Ali looked bad were to fighters smaller than him.

TBF, Foreman could’ve taken a dump and weighed in at a lower weight than Ali.

They weighed less, even Holmes weighed less than the drained Ali. Ali was cooked for Holmes anyway. Norton beat Ali but he didn't make Ali look bad in the sense that Jimmy Young or Doug Jones did even in his wins. The point is most successful fighters adapted a style that fit their stature. Tyson Fury wasn't going to fight out of a crouch and Rocky Marciano wasn't going to fight tall.

Would you agree that a 6'3" Joe Frazier and Oscar Bonavena with 78" reaches wouldn't remotely resemble the fighters we saw?

I reckon. I just don't see how Joe being three to five inches taller and having eleven more inches of reach would have helped in get inside, work the body, and "kill" Ali. I also don't see how Ringo's awkward style would be better if he was taller with a longer reach. They really wouldn't be Smoking Joe and Ringo. Ali was a pretty tough hombre. If a Mob enforcer and a reformed mugger from Houston's infamous Fifth Ward couldn't "kill" him i don't see how Joe or Ringo could if they were the same size.

Around 25 of his opponents were of a comparable size.

The original poster said if Oscar and Joe were the same size as Muhammad they would "kill" him. I submit virtually no boxing expert would agree with that hyperbole, beginning with the fact that a 6'3" Joe Frazier and 6'3" Oscar Bonavena with a 78" inch reach are no longer Smoking Joe and Ringo.
