    PROSPECTS
    Bakhodir Jalolov
    Jared Anderson
    Justis Huni
    Frazer Clarke
    Fabio Wardley
    Moses Itauma
    Richard Torres Jr
    Gurgen Hovhannysian
    Danier Pero

FROM OTHER WEIGHT CLASSES THAT MIGHT COME UP AND HELP OUT
    Jai Opetaia
    Muslim Gadzhimagomedov
    Lawrence Okolie

Personally, I don't see a single one that I am 100% excited over.

Jalolov seems to be the guy everyone likes...personally, I don't think he's all that great, as he is just a one-handed fighter, and I see no evidence that he even wants a professional career.

Anderson to me is a train-wreck waiting to happen.

Itauma is probably the third most hyped, and I wish him well, but it occurs to me that he has done nothing at all as an amateur or pro to earn the hype. He seems to me to be, though through no fault of his own, the classic case of a guy who is fed stiffs and won't be prepared when they get him in there with someone who knows what he is doing.

If there is someone here you like, please discuss.

maybe add Gurgen + Danier Pero.

BTW - how tall is Moses Itauma ... is he 6.3 or 6.5?

could be a musical chairs/hot potato division which could be very exciting if politics dont get in the way of things.

Added. Gurgan is another one I am unexcited about. Guy is just plain out of shape, and after a couple of fights with great hype, he vanished for a year.

I think boxrec lists Moses as 6'2.5"

Actually, I felt the same way a bit but Gurgen just had a fight recently and he looks to have lost some weight.

Moses I've seen listed at different heights. I guess we can see for ourselves when he comes in against Wach.
I kind of feel the same way as you re him. I remember Boytsov blasting out many early on and stepping up ok
until he met Leapai in a fight that really counted. As I recall, he didn't have much if any amateur background either.

He did win the world and European youth world championships, stopping everybody he faced in the Europeans. Not sure but Boxrec has him undefeated as an amateur, I'm sure I've read he only lost once. All pretty impressive considering he turned pro at 18.

    I am extremely unimpressed tbqfh

Jalalov is good, there's no question but overall...........nah. Anderson is the biggest disappointment to me (being from Ohio). He looks to have flatlined. And Sonny Conto (who's not even listed) isn't really giving what I want him to give.

I think Jai is very good, but he's not a HW (yet) so can I really consider him? And I'm optimistic about Joshua Edwards but he ain't even a pro yet so I'm also guarded.

It will be exciting after the champion from Usyk line retires to see who becomes the man.

That one ring magazine that had Joe Mesi, Guinn, and Audley Harrison with the title "Who will replace Tyson, Holyfield, and Lewis"? (March 2004)

Kind of feel like they could redo that cover today.

I remember that cover. As I recall they were big in Guinn, partly due to his physic.

It's not very exciting. Itauma I think is one of the most promising, sure his pro opposition has been poor but he is very young too .... no need to push him too quickly.

Guinn fooled me, he KOd Grant and then beat Dokiwari months apart and I thought this guy is so relaxed in there, he could go places. Turned out one of this problems was he was waaay too relaxed.

But he won about 20 fights as an amatuer. I think he would have been well-served to stay in just a bit longer.
