Are you guys annoyed by the gap between Mikey's theoretical opposition and his actual opposition?

Way I was raised we respect elders. We all get old so I don't see how calling someone old is any kind of knock on that person.

its ridiculous, its mma fans analyzing boxing level stuff.
that larry merchant interview someone posted yesterday, made made me yell "he gets it!". he mentioned that 3 punch combo that dropped easter, people dont realize the skill level required to execute that combo against a guy like easter.
i wish people would try and figure out how this guy they call basic, slow and predictable, is so effective that he has barely lost rds across 4 divisions, including a guy who gave the current p4p #1 too much to swallow. im just waiting for someones half ass explaination so i can see where the bar is set.

Boom you got it in one, another one that folk bang on about is resume which is all well and good, but for someone like Crawford who was in a relatively weak division you can’t go resume.
Imo the major factor that determines PFP status is as you already mentioned re hardly losing any rounds fight after fight, winning well against those you should beat and nailing the big fights which is why guys like Crawford,Lomo and Mikey are always automatic favourites even when they move up a division so obviously the bookies determine who’s PFP also.
Golovkin in his pomp just didn’t lose rounds and it’s all well and good saying it wasn’t top opposition but still it’s the manner how they go about beating em as guys like DeGale and more recently Kovalev could explain how it can all go wrong.
Re Mikey v Lomo,Only Mikey Garcia is capable of beating or stopping Lomo at present and I wouldn’t be shocked or surprised if it happened.

Yes, I am annoyed by this loud mouth fighter. Besides, he made me confuse. He has called out those big names at 147 but he's now still fighting at 135.:fusmile

I'm not annoyed. I judge by what happens. And what has happened is he has amassed one of the best resumes in the current boxing scene today.

Well... what I think about Mickey Gracia is the same way as I thought about GGG when he announced in the ring that he will fight anyone from 154 - 168. After that, GGG fights at 160 solely and never tries to move up. It's the type of advertising himself to this sport.

I'm annoyed by the gap between everyone's theoretical opposition and their actual opposition. The opportunities are there for every boxer to have a Ray Robinson like career if they actually want it. But they never do.

I disagree with that. The possible opposition has to want it too, it takes two to tango.
Plus you get the promoters/networks/alphabet orgs that usually get in the way too. Certainly when a fighter is dangerous.

If it was easy to get a Joshua/Canelo/Floyd/Pac fight, they all would, because these guys don't just represent the sport's pinnacle but also life altering paydays win or lose.

The big names with big paydays can usually fight any opponent they want any time they want it. Most of the guys below that won't get the chance.

You think they didn't do that back in Robinson's day? Robinson never gave Charley Burley a shot. Burley was part of the black murderer's row, the guys who never got title shots. Consider Holman Williams, another murderer's row alumni. He beat Cocoa Kid, Booker, Burley, Marshall, Chase, Moore, and Satterfield and he's fighting some of them like Moore two, Burley seven, and Cocoa thirteen times. He's fighting LaMotta, Cerdan, anyone who would get in the ring with him.

It's not just two to tango. It's two to tango and the ballroom is full of eligible partners. Some ***** is being uppity and you taker her sister.
