That's disgusting.. I mean... everybody knows how corrupt boxing is... but surely you would think that at least ONE honest person involved in the sport with a bit of clout and money would try and fix some of this bull?
Probably a fight in the UK, or him & Wlad fighting on the same night.....who knows. Fairly certain it won't be Lennox.
It will be a sad day when Both Kilts retire, because no matter who becomes the new champ (Probably Helenius, for a while) that belt will be massively tainted. Call it "The Larry Holmes" syndrome. The belt don't mean shite when there's no serious competitors around. Tell me there's a single current HW contender that really gets you excited? At least with Vitali around, the division still MEANS something.
Why would they? There's absolutely no money in going legit, and there's no international legal agency that will ever fine or jail anyone for corruption. And heck, it's not like any fans are going to suddenly stop watching because of obviously fixed decisions or reffing. It's a no-brainer.
I have bet my house on it Vitali will Fight Lennox Lewis in late 2012 to shut down all the talks. Vitali only came back to lure Lennox out of Retirement for unfinished business. -The Rematch
There is NO chance Lennox Lewis will ever get into the ring again with Vitali. He's not broke, and he's not stupid. -And don't go betting your house. You might need it.
Vitali is now talking retirement after a couple more fights because he don't have any big fights avialable, aside from Haye. But if some of the current contenders are willing to fight Vitlai, I venture to say he'll fight on past 2012. And as has been said, I don't see Wlad getting a shot at the WBC title for quite some time. Not until the fight has been almost forced upon the WBC suits.
Interesting to see if Wladimir becomes the first boxer since Hopkins to unify the four major belts(WBC, IBF, WBO, WBA)
:deal I've no doubt the division will suddenly become "good" again in the eyes of many when we have competitive fights at the top of the division, when in reality, all those guys would be handled easily by the brothers.
Well said, the divison will be in alot worst shape when this happens does anyone recall the early 80's heavyweight divison. that what is gonna be like four different champions no one wanting to unify and taking on 2 tier contenders it gonna suck
Excited? what a weird hate-question? Vitaly is the only true star in the division. An era will be over the day vitali retires and there will probably be decades before we will see someone who could have been even competitive with a prime Vitali. So ..excited? No, I think the division will be rather pointless the day Vitality retires. then we will have Aladdin, but he is frankly a pale copy of his brother. He has the physical things but is not a born fighter like Vitality. the rest are classes below.
Yes, the fights will be more competive and the winner in the end might seem more Rocky'ish because he had to overcome a lot of adversity. Some people may question whether the klits could have overcome similar adversity. The answer is that Vitality could, but even more interesting is that he probably would not have to because he would have made everyone at that time like second-tier. ,
The HW Division must have reached a long time low so that it can have some excitement back just cause one Champ will/would retire. Ale beat them all until he came across with age and Holmes, Holmes beat them all until he came across with age and Spinks, Tyson beat them all including Holmes and Spinks until he came across with his layoff, Holyfield and Lewis, Lewis was not dethroned but he was knocked out and came back and retired, Holyfield was beaten by Lewis and now he is in his most private Idaho, Vitali should be dethroned by somebody... His height, reach, power or even his skill does not tell the whole tale... The other HWs are not hungry enough!
