Yeah we would all have loved to see him vs GGG

    Absolutely insane dream match

But..... i reckon he's done the right thing

He clearly doesnt need the money, so why take on such a dangerous fight?

He can retire after having KO'd GG (not quite GGG) @ Wembley in front of 80,000

You always seem to remember first amd last impressions. For Carl, there couldnt be a better way to bow out and have that important initial fresh imprint of a memory

He summed it up well in his interview. If he fights Degale or GGG, there will be someone else that the fans want him to fight and he will be accused of ducking them.

    He made the right decision.

No because he has two great fights on the table and is clearly still near the top of his game, on the other hand, absolutely nothing to prove and if he can't get the motivation necessary it's a wise choice with a beautiful family, A-level career and tons of cash. Though selfishly I am peeved that we might not see him bash up DeGale or see what Golovkin's made of.

yes, better go out on top (or near the very top) than end up a laughing stock fighting for peanuts like RJJ or Toney

Yes, you gotta go out sometime. The only time you "fans" are happy with someone retiring is after they take severe beatings to the point of punch drunk status.
