I just dunno if this guy will be able to leave a challenge like Golovkin hanging out there, there have been enough clues in his interviews that he's very interested in testing GGG.

forch doesn't need a fake superfight to end his career, since he was fighting at every opportunity since breaking onto the world scene.

George Groves (lost by KO to Froch at Wembley Stadium; 80,000 in attendance) opinion: "Obviously it would have been nice to box the guy and beat him [in a third bout]. He hasn't been boxing since our fight. I knew his retirement was coming. How will he be remembered? He will be remembered for the controversy in our first fight, it was a wrong decision...obviously him beating me at Wembley....and him explaining it to Floyd Mayweather. Once you've explained it to Floyd Mayweather, I don't think there is much left to do in a boxing career," Groves told Sky Sports.

"We don't need to be friends, I have friends. There is a rivalry when you box, but now that rivalry isn't there. Rivalries are healthy in boxing. It promotes fights to become better fights."

"Carl Froch is a tough, strong man. Very tough. I don't know how he would have gone on with [the British greats]. I don't think he would have ever beat [Joe] Calzaghe. Calzaghe was a bit too quick for him. Him and [Nigel] Benn would have been a war, but Benn had a bit of more skill and class about him. That would have been a great fight to watch. It's one of those things that you never [how the fights would have turned out]. He's a tough man to beat, Carl."

Even Khan was classy on twitter, George can't even just say 'great career and was the best man in our 2nd fight', ****ing weird dude this Groves seems sometimes  It'll be amusing if he fights on sky sports and Froch is there commenting.

He doesn't have a 0, but the guy has one of the biggest egos in sports history. Haven't you ever heard the guy talk about himself

It was really telling him posting that picture ''too big and strong for GGG'' I just cannot see him retiring permanently whilst being that... not insecure... but he has a certain dry charm about him where he doesn't like anybody suggesting somebody would be too much for him to handle... so he has a big chip in his mind where he wants to sort this business out with Golovkin. I honestly think he'll ask eddie to make that fight by next summer.

On the whole thats a pretty respectful thing for GG to say

No, obviousl he wont be remembered for their first fight, but GG has been damaged by that, its no surprise to hear him talking some garbage

On the whole though, there's a ton of respect shown there by a blatantly wounded Groves

    I voted yes.

Sure I would've loved to seen GGG use him as a stepping stone to ATGness, but then again, FROCH, like most, may have simply played him and fought domestically vs DeGale, GG 3(once he wins the WBC belt) or Martin Murray.

All of which would be nearly as lucrative but fat more winnable.
    DeGale 60/40 Froch
    GG 3 70/30 Froch
    M&M 60/40 Froch

    GGG 90/10 GGG

He's also got that guaranteed 2 million from Showtime for Bute 2 in Canada.
And he'd be 80/20 to win that one.

I suppose saying he's a tough man is respectful but it was a long-winded whine with him eventually conceding Froch is a tough guy, I know they're not expected to send flowers to one another but still a weird roundabout commentary. Then again it's exactly what Froch would say about somebody else and he'd get laughed at for not being able to simply state a compliment too.

Nah, I really hoped for Golovkin to finally get a big fight.
