Based on what you've seen from Boots so far do you see him as the real deal or just all flash with little substance? Do you see him becoming a P4P fighter and future star in boxing? I'm really liking what I'm seeing from him so far. He's got all the tools in his arsenal and is a very gifted fighter. He's a heavy handed puncher and skillful boxer with a flashy style that makes him highly entertaining to watch. Once he starts fighting more legit threats we'll have a better idea of his capabilities. I personally think he has potential.
Hes been flawless so far but we need to see him against a real elite fighter before we make a final judgement. Hes looked sensational beating C and B class fighters, but is still without a standout win over an A class fighter.
I think he gets knocked out if he fights a truly elite pressure, inside, or brawler type of fighter. He gets hit too much and I think a pressure fighter will pin him on the ropes. Also he takes these little fraction of a second pauses to reset after he throws a combination at times and that can bite him in the future. But I love how he throws his combinations explosive with speed and power and then that combined with his long arms it’s very nice. Also how he finished his last opponent with that right hand - left uppercut - right hand was awesome. That’s my personal favorite combination to throw on the heavybag and he landed those punches perfectly.
He has elite talent, but he has to be careful not to fall in love with his own power and style. Ideally he would not be getting hit by guys like Villa, and his career at top level will last longer if he doesn't. But you have to respect that he takes chances even though he doesn't need to, because he wants to give the fans a great fight. He's a must watch fighter as far as I'm concerned, it's just too bad he won't likely ever have access to Crawford or Spence. Not sure where the comp is coming from.
Right now l see him like Spence before he beat Brook. Looks good when he's fighting mediocre opposition where he's the one dictating things but yet to prove he can take it back like he can dish it out and until he does he's just another contender. I do question his lack of counter punching. He's a guy that relies on his physical gifts. I don't see him as being especially skilled, just fast and powerful with a flashy style. I suspect he does not end up being a top P4P fighter. Maybe a good one, but not a great one.
Would love to see him fight Stanionis before the end of the year, currently he is 31-0 and he is fighting C level fighters.
Ennis is impressive. I still want to see what he does when he really steps up and how many of his skills he can still use. With the upcoming landscape of Welter I could see Boots cleaning house, getting little respekk and writing a sequel to RJJ "Y'all musta forgot" because there won't be names for him to fight unless he can grow to 154
Been saying him and Vergil were the next dominate forces at WW for years. Boots proves me right everytime he fights.
No.In terms of resume this is the first time i really sat down and had a look at this kid.I saw a few rounds enough to say he is beatable.Unlike Bud or Spence i think this kid could lose by TKO down the line it’s just a matter of time and right opp in front of him.
I find it funny that we are saying this about him but for some reason, Crawford has been touted as a top P4P fighter without any real name on his resume.
No black fighter gets hyped before they fight top opposition, so most won’t be impressed, though he did stop a guy who was not chinny!
What ? Have you been blind reading this forum ? Ennis has gotten alot of praise/hype from pretty much everyone. What the hell has his skin colour got to do with anything ?
