People always underrate things like defense and overrate things like offense then when the fight happens they wonder why this awesome offensive fighter isn't getting off and is getting picked apart. The point is Manny has never fought a defensive genius before not only that but a fighter who can adjust to all styles he will be in for a shock and so will many of his fans come fight night.

I see the point that the OP is making, and the photos do argue that point well. But what they DON'T show is what came before & after those shots, they just show one tiny instance in time. Part of what makes Pacquiao so special is his speed, as well as the angles he throws from, which are a problem for anyone in my opinion, MayJr. included...

See Calzage vs Hopkins for your answer on this. Calzage's workrate which is usually abnormally high went down dramtically when he had to account for bernard's clever countering. Granted I know that's not the best example since hopkins did lose but I don't think that he held as many advantages over Joe as Floyd does over Manny.

Are you kidding? look at him!yeah he can bang, but what really has he done?? beat Judah and Clottey??? JOKE. Even when the fight starts getting rough all you see him do is jump back and lay on the ropes walking all around the ring, and puts his weak gaurd up. Cotto not overrated how? Have him fight SSM again i dare you. Malignaggi? are you for real? and sturggled! honestly Bro get with it

True on this, but i see this when i'm watching the fights. He ALWAYS does it. He has his gaurd up real nice until he throws a punch, its like he forgot to learn that. And Maythrows extremely well from angles as well which PAC doesn't like..

I thought you wanted to post pic about a fighters openings. I do that but since its Gatti dont count I guess.
i mean if Gatti cant find those wide openings , no way in hell Pacquiao can.
Nothing will ever work against Mayweather , I guess.

What i'm saying is show me the opening, his left hand is up, and his right shoulder is up, true his chin is too which i have noticed about may throughout his career yet he only gets checked when he is in a brawl ( Chop Chop and the last 10 seconds of the DLH fight) but Rarely does anyone get that oppertunity becuz he uses his shoulders so well ( yeah yeah he cant do that agains PAC i know, but he is good at keeping his hands up too) so show me the openings your talking about?

  9. PAC has a lot of advantages over Floyd also.

I will never bet against Pac again. Logic tells me that Floyd should wins this easily, but Pac defies logic.

Well, I still pick PAC over Mayweather. Why?

Because, PAC is constantly improving. No matter what you put in there with him, he will find a way to beat the guy and win.

Even Roach admits after the PAC-Cotto fight that PAC will still improve (Jabs, Right Hook, Head Movement, etc).

Now that's scary. Maybe Pac's not yet in his prime after all.

I think that a lot of these supposed advantages are overplayed. It's not that Pac has so many advantages it's just that Floyd is terribly underrated in a lot of categories

What do you mean ? show you the opening? Did you read my post ?

If Gatti had any agility he could have slipped that straight right and countered it with a WIDE THE **** OPEN hook to the liver

    heres the picture again

If he he any speed or agility worth mentioning , he could have timed the straight right by slipping to his left. Mayweathers right hand would go past Gatti 's right side of the face.

slips to the left and shoots a straight right of his own.

or slips to the left and counters the straight with a hook to the liver.

He could have made him pay if he was agile enough. Smart enough. fast enough.

While alot of people say Mcgirt isnt a good trainer well with the right preperation you can nullify what Maywerther wants to do. ( its not going to be alot) The way De la Hoya nullified Mayweathers lunging lead left hook .

He completely took that away form Floyd. And that helped make it a closer fight than Mayweater wanted. He got busted up against Oscar too.
so De la Hoya had the smart fighting down pat because Roach had him prepared.

It looks like his entire head was exposed to me. The moment anyone throws a punch , they are open to be hit back. But you have to be willing to look it in and do your own work in an exchange. Alot of fighters cant do that though. A lot of fighters will only throw when they know the other guy isnt going to throw back.

Mayweather 's hands wasnt really up. his glove was barely touching his chin.

Easy to say, hard to prove. Defense is not always better than offense, and Pac's offense is the best at this point. Pac maybe open to whatever punch you'd like to see. Problem is, nobody has done it yet.

Yep . And heres the thing about fighting. Defense doesnt always win. Offense is what scores the points here . If moving around the ring trying to avoid punches is always going to win then how come Roy Jones got crushed by Tarver? How come Ali got crushed by Frazier?
