Pacquiao NEEDED to improve. He got beat by Morales. He came close to losing to Marquez TWICE. If he hadn't improved he'd just be another good, but not great boxer.

Who knows if Mayweather is improving or not. The kid hasn't lost a fight yet and he's only had a couple of marginally close ones (Castillo 1 and DLH, which was close, but clear, and fought at Floyd's pace). No one has made him step out of his comfort zone. Until they do we won't know if he has another gear. Pac NEEDED to find another gear to keep winning.

If you ever find a boxing coach who tells you that it's proper form to "****" your hand for a punch then leave the gym right away and never turn back. Pacquiao can get away with it because he is so fast, but it's a fundamentally wrong thing to do. The left should shoot straight from his cheek, not from his chest or behind his ear. That's bad form masked by phenomenal athleticism.

Sure you could find pictures of just about any fighter doing something similar, but Pac does it ALOT, he just gets away with it because he's so ****ing fast. Floyd IS good at countering in the middle of combos. Watch the short hook he wobbles Oscar with when he interrupts Oscar punching. Can he do it to Manny? Probably with some success, but maybe not enough to win the fight. That's why I want to see the fight.

Dude, if you don't see the difference between the way you naturally expose yourself when throwing a punch because you simply can't cover all of your body with your arm extended, and the way Pacman tends to drop his inactive hand when throwing combos I'm not sure there's much point in you talking boxing.

Floyd's left could be a touch higher, but that is basically a textbook straight right, and his glove is certainly high enough to protect his chin which is the off button that you really want to protect. Notice that his left arm is also tucked and perfectly covering the left side of his body. He is protecting as much as he can protect while still throwing an effective punch. What a terrible picture to choose to compare to the shots of Pacquiao above.

I dont know, this is a 50/50 fight. All I do know is I am getting tired of picking against Pac. Aside from Hatton, which I picked Pac to win.

. but you should notice that I never said the left side of his body was open. I never said that a right hook to the body will work againtst Mayweather in that pic .

Its the moment he goes into the shoulder roll ; that the left side of his body is exposed.

This whole thread is ****ing ridiculous. The topic starter is trying to show
that Pacquiao is "wide open" for the counter. Newsflash if you take split
second pictures of any fighter, they are open for the counter at some point
in time. The trick is to counter at that split second. Since Pac isn't a
mechanical bull, but very unpredictable, I count on Floyd not being able to.

If you want to be closed for any counter, you cannot ever throw a punch.
However, if you don't throw a punch you will not hurt your opponent. Pacs
defense will not be airtight 100% of the time, but he damn well will be hurting
    his opponent.

I don't see Floyd taking Pacs applied pressure and pain for 12 rounds, if he starts
crying before the fight has started at all. Do you?

if anyone can penetrate floyds defense i think pac has a very good chance, the punches in bunches the crazy angels hes a crazy little sob but this is boxing and floyd is the best boxer out there right now at least in my personal opinion and if he keeps it a boxing match floyd should shut pacman out but anything can happen and just hope for a good fight

In all the pictures that the TS showed, one thing is clear - all of Pac's opponents were too busy getting their faces re-arranged to think about throwing a counter, open or not.

I think he is trying to show that you can counter while covering as well,m sort of having 4 arms.
