Hell yeah how can you not even in defeat he put it all on the line !! What else do people need to support a fighter ?

I was on board with you until your comment about Cotto's actions tainting his legacy. WTF? He was broke by the better, stronger man on this particular night after putting up an incredible fight! If that 'taint's' your legacy... damn... I don't even know what more you could have expected from him.

Not sure how anyone would say Cotto could have survived until the end though. The minute he retreated across the ring after initially coming forward after the first knee pretty much signaled the end was very very near.

 

Of course. Cotto is a warrior. He will want his belt back. Bring on the rematch.

Margo beat the will out of him, like Cotto has done to many of his past opponents.

I think Evangelista might have salvaged a few more years of Miguel's career, by throwing in that towel.

The final 4 minutes might have been too much to ever recover from, and that's if he already isn't a changed fighter from the beatdown he received.

Anybody know the official scorecards at the time of stoppage? As of the second knockdown, I had Margo up a point I believe, but I was pretty stoned and in shock.

What kind of question is that? I believe Cotto gain more fans last night. He took a hell of beating until his body gave out. His heart is incredible. I cant wait til he gets back in the ring.

 

I see no reason for a rematch...Cotto is a Curr he quit!!! Anybody that backs up and takes a knee without being hit by a single punch is a quitter!!!!

 

I was a Cotto fan going into the fight, and I am still a Cotto fan after the fight. I was in shock to see him loose in the manner that he did, but if he were to put on that type of perfomance and loose every fight after this, I would still love to watch him fight. He gave his all. Unfortunatly Margo has a chin made out of unknown material and it was his night. Margo did what he had to do, he fought the way he always fights and he took the fight. Both men are true warriors. But to answer the question from this thead.HELL YA, IM STILL A COTTO FAN.

 

I stopped being a Cotto fan after he got the gift in SSM fight. Yesterday was karma at work.

 

Cotto is a great fighter and a good man! He fought very well, but he faced a monster last night. This fight was a boxing epic and there is no shame in a loss for Cotto. I would love to see this fight again, but I'm pretty sure the result would be the same. Margarito is simply too big and too strong for Cotto. This is also the kind of fight that can ruin a fighter, let's just hope that isn't the case for Cotto because he is fighter I would pay to watch anytime!
