He is one of the best examples of a s****py misfit, a guy that could go head to head with the most refined and polished athletes which mayhave been groomed for the sport since childhood.

He gets my vote because boxing needs bad guys like him in the sport. He is a truth serum for anyone's toughness, and represents a little of the dark side of boxing. He is not a forgettable guy.

One win over a hof fighter in Cotto does not automatically make Margarito hof material.

Thing was guys like Hamed actually ruled their divisions for a number of years, Margarito also lost to all the best fighters he fought.

Williams, Cotto, Mosley, Pacqiauo, that just outweighs his achievements in my opinion.

If you go by other fighters who have been inducted then yes. Margarito was definitely avoided by some until the Mosley loss. I remember DLH clearly ducking him as well.

I find his accusations of plaster in handwraps a complete and utter lie. If a professional boxer wore handwraps he would be killing people not dropping them for a ten count.

I will have to review his resume to make a clear decision. Undefeated Cotto and Martinez are great wins though. Specially the Martinez win. That one aged really nice.
