I don't understand Floyd Mayweather to start with. Here's a guy who was standing and most enthusiastic about Manny Pacquiao's attack on Erik Morales in their second fight, pushing for Manny and giving him instructions throughout the bout - check the tape and Floyd next to Leonard Ellerbe on front row... But then, he did the same with Hoya b4 facing him in the Mayorga fight and with Shane in the 2nd Vargas fight. Basically Floyd is pissed that he was not elected or awarded. I don't think he should be since most ( like Larry Merchant) have expressed that Manny brings excitement to the game whereas even Floyd himself admitted that he had a couple of boring fights b4 taking on Hatton.
Mayweather is probably the better all round boxer but he took a two year lay off and also Pacquaio's fights are a lot more exciting which i believe has bearing on him being picked. Both guys have impressive resumes but i think Paquaio's is slightly better even if you can find flaws in it like floyd has. If you really want to you can pick anyones resume apart.e.g For Mayweather you could say he was beaten by Castillo. Corley had just been beaten of Judah and his record after mayweather proves he was not a matched opponent (10 losses out of 18). gatti had had several losses and was heavily unfavoured to beat Mayweather. Mitchell had recently been Ko'd in 3 of Tsyzu. Judah had just been beaten of limited Baldomir. Baldomir was Limited. De La Hoya was old. hatton and Marquez were too small. Mosley was old and had not fought for 18 months. Not that all this is true but it is easy to make it sound like a boxer was cherrypicking. You can do it with virtually every boxer including unbeaten champs like Calzaghe, marciano and Lopez.
I thought FLoyd was 41-0.:huh OH wait let me guess what you might say to an extent. JLC was robbed and floyd's record is 41-0, but we all no he really lost. So i guess that means that you can also say pac's 3 is really a 4 because we all know he really lost to JMM. Guess what, They both won.. get over it. THEY HAVE. MAybe if JLc would have rematched floyd he would have beat him decisively, especially since he would know what it took to win. Oh Wait:huh
he lost to castillo first fight, stop trying to justify or clean that off on another fighter. it doesnt take away from how good he is but it doesnt mean it didnt happen either. i saw it.
Maybe you dont understand what i am saying. I gave that fight to castillo, just like i gave pac fight to jmm, just like i gave the 2nd odlh-ssm to oscar, But it dont ****ing matter who i or anyone else gave it too. the judges collectively gave it to PBF, PAC, and shane and at the end of the day, thats all the **** that matters. I think its stupid that people hang on to the first JLC fight, or the jmm-pac fight especially when the boxer who should feel robbed doesnt even hang on to it. No matter how many times you want to say floyd lost, and you are free to do so, he is 41-0. No matter how many times people want to say pac lost to jmm, he only has 3 losses. If you cant understand my point after that then our discussion has expired...:hi:
I could not care less.... DO you always agree with movie of the year? Album of the year? Nothing is good or wrong. Just what you prefer...
This award won't mean **** after PBF tools this guy when they meet. But I guess *******s can always fall back on but Pac was fighter of the decade ****.:rofl
Good luck Floyd. We think you can still make it in this decade, 2010 to 2019. Just fight the best out there. Fighting Pacquiao will be a good start.
lifetime ban and we wont get to talk ****..how bout 30 days..60 days...lifetime ban bet will leave us with a new screen name...how bout a 30 or 60 day ban bet..this way i can talk some $hit when u come back:hat
this is what i want if you're agreeable to it. 1. the loser will wear an avatar chosen by the winner for 30 days after the fight at the same time will still be allowed to post here (this way, the winner can talk sh!t to the loser while it's still very fresh ) 2. after the 30 days avatar, the loser will banish himself from the forum for 30 days (the winner can continue talking sh!t about the loser while he's on vacation ) do we have a deal? then just hope that this fight will finally materialize. btw, i bet PAC will defeat Floyd.
-Chavez was undefeated and Leonard got 80s FOTD even with a loss in his prime and that shady draw vs Hearns. -Monzon was undefeated in the 70s and Duran was awarded it for that decade and he had a loss to De Jesus. -Marciano went undefeated his entire career and he wasn't even runner-up to Ray Robinson in the 50s. Archie Moore, a guy he knocked out was. All those previous winners, along with Pac were deserved and logical choices. Mayweather fans need to get it through their heads, it's what a fighter achieves and the challenges they overcome in their career which is the major determining factor of their greatness. It has little to do with their record. Under your logic, Joe Calzaghe and Ivan Calderon should both also rank ahead of Pacquao. As for the Boxing Writers Association of America FOTD list, this is what the history books will show: 00s - Manny Pacquiao This content is protected 90s - Roy Jones This content is protected 80s - Ray Leonard This content is protected 70s - Duran This content is protected 60s - Ali This content is protected 50s - Sugar Ray Robinson This content is protected 40s - Sugar Ray Robinson This content is protected 30s - Henry Armstrong This content is protected 20s - Benny Leonard This content is protected 10s - Sam Langford This content is protected This content is protected 00s - Mayweather This content is protected 90s - Whitaker This content is protected 80s - Chavez This content is protected 70s - Monzon This content is protected 60s - Carlos Ortiz This content is protected 50s - Archie Moore This content is protected 40s - Willie Pep This content is protected 30s - Tony Canzoneri This content is protected 20s - Harry Greb This content is protected 10s - Jimmy Wilde This content is protected
You don't get it man. Win or lose against Floyd, Pac is the greater fighter. Pac has no business in the same division as Floyd, let alone fighting him at 147... The fact is, Pac vs PBF was supposed to be a p4p fantasy matchup, something that would never happen. The only reason its on the cards right now is because Pac is that ****ing good. He doesn't need to win this battle, he's already won the war. Look at how Marquez got manhandled by Floyd. Imagine that. All Pac needs to do is be competitive with Floyd and we'll know that he was really something special. And if Pac beats him, ****, that's truly amazing. Talk about the cherry on the sundae. The Pac haters wanna act like Pac vs FLoyd is a fight that's fought on a level playing field, but history will look back and see that it clearly isn't. Its really an uphill battle for PAc which is what makes it such a great challenge.
