Not sure if it had been posted. Just read on russian news that the German Boxing Association annulled the license of Arena Box Promotion owned by Mahmet Oner, therefore prohibiting all the boxers under its banner to box in Germany.

The referee was just as bad - giving a fighter a standing 8 count having taken a good shot

It's a good example that Germany is not the corrupt place a lot of you guys would like to think... maybe you can pull a scandal in Spain - but you're still going to lose your licence in Germany...

I just wish Arena will survive somehow (maybe after paying a large amount of fine) - outside of the Williams-Airich situation (which was pretty bad), Arena looked to be a fine promotional company in singing the 4 Cuban amateur stars, making their trip (incl. Gamboa's family), getting their VISA, citizenship, new home, training costs and I especially like the way they're moving Yuriorkis Gamboa's pro career forward... we'll see what happens, at the end of the day Öner can still be a manager or adviser for the Cubans or apply for a licence maybe in Turkey...

By the way: is this news confirmed by the German commission?

Erislandy Lara. Solis and Barthelemy are still with Arena. By the way there's a 5th: Juan Carlos Gomez, the former CW star.

Accoding to the news, the license was taken due to shady activities during the following events: Spain May 30, Germany June 7 and Turkey July 4.

The article does not go into details. Maybe some posters that saw these events will provide us with some feedback.

well on the Turkey card Vidoz won close but clear against local matador Sinan Samil Sam on the cards of all watchers but not on the jugdes card. They had it a draw. Well, i think it was two days later, it was announced that one judge changed his point of view and so the SSS won ang became european hw champion. Total bs and very bad for boxing - oh perhaps you need to now that SSS is a good friend of Oener.

Good for them. I have a love/hate relationship with Oner. I love that he challenges his fighters, keeps them very active and makes competitive fights, but I hate that he's a huge dickweed and that he fairly obviously seems to cheat / pay people off, etc.

As to June 7, I believe it had to do with controversial judging in one of the women's fights.
