I love Argüello, I'm sure a soul like his found the Pearly Gates and I'm sure his name is emblazoned in gold throughout the Hall of Fame. A fighter as good as him should be remembered more, but few mention him today.

The reason I'm a boxing fan today.
First ever to win 4 World titles in different weight classes!

I think you've got you're wires crossed mate. Argüello only won them in 3 (126, 130 & 135), and I thought Duran was the first?

No wires crossed my friend, I don't go by official results.
Aaron Pryor with the help of Panama Lewis cheated their way through their fight against Alexis Arguello.
A lot of people don't know this, but Aaron Pryor drank out of the black bottle Panama Lewis had mixed numerous times during
his fight with Arguello. It wasn't just that one time after the 13th round.
That bottle contained Asthmatic steroid pills that worked to open up the lungs when a person is gasping for air.
God knows what other tricks Lewis and Pryor pulled off that night.

    126, 130, 135, and 140 lbs!
Alexis Arguello "Flaco Explosivo", four time Champion of the World in different weight classes!!!

Well if we're not going by official results that opens up a whole lot of possibilities for new threads.

I demand more respect for Ezzard Charles. The man went undefeated for 121 fights, beating Harold Johnson, Rocky Marciano, Ken Overlin and many others!

Going by my 'unofficial' results, the man's the GOAT!

Happy Birthday Champ. One of my all time favorites, a great champion and man. I saw him fight Ruben Castillo in person, on Jan 20 1980.
