I'm under the impression his knockouts were more due to accurate, straight punching rather than sheer power. Like of like Tsyzu. But, power... How much of it did he have?
God, yes. He was unrelentingly brutal and scored many clean knockouts against top fighters, far more than Olivares or zarate did for instance. Lots of fighters have accurate straight punches without hitting like Alexis.
What kind of power did Zarate have, then? I know other fighters do, Alexis just seemed inhumanly accurate throughout his career, which aided his knockouts.
He had great balance that gave him power in every punch. His shots were right on the chin or in the solar plexis, and so it was those two factors that gave him knockout power. Physically he was very skinny and so probably not a lot of "sheer power."
