Chavez was nasty at this weight. But, Arguello too was an incredible force at 130. How does everyone see this one go? Arguello had crunching power at this weight, and a debilatating body attack. Chavez had a granite chin, also a nasty body attack(and undreated boxing skills).Arguello`s one glaring weakness( foot speed) wouldn`t be a problem here. he wouldn`t have to go looking for Chavez. Could Chavez crowd Arguello enough and not give him room to work? Pryor can`t be an accurate measuring stcik. Because at jr. welter, he was just too strong for Arguello. Arguello with his power at this weight, could cause big problems for Chavez coming in. I see this fight going two ways. But, before I come clean, what do you guys think???

Think Alexis manages to edge Julio at 130.His power definitely will be felt by Chavez, and Chavez will make his presence felt with his power.I could possibly see Arguello stopping Julio late in a 15 rounder, but most likely he win by MD. A draw isn't out of the question.

I don't see any Super Featherweight stopping JCC inside the scheduled distance, at least not any Super-Feather I've seen on film. That doesn't neccesarily mean Arguello can't win this fight, but I just think Chavez will be the busier of the two and he'll take the shots slightly better. Arguello will of course return with jolting shots and be able to hold his own in the combination punching department, but I see most rounds being won on work rate - and JCC will be the more wasteful of the two, in my opinion. Sometimes I think Alexis was almost too patient. He waited on the opponent's mistakes whereas JCC was a little more bullish and took the initiative.

Both fighters could get hurt here, but I favour JCC to win more rounds - especially early on. A great fight in prospect.

I favor Arguello. It would be gruelling but to me Arguello is the better fighter.

I dunno. What I think could be particularly interesting here is what role Arguello's body attack would play on the pressuring Chavez.

I like Arguello by UD, due to accurate, jolting shots on the incoming Chavez. JCC will make him work, but Alexis will ultimately land the more meaningful punches.

Very close fight with fans arguing afterwards about the merits of accuracy over volume.

    JCC SD.

Assuming it's not the weight drained version that faced Laporte, or the fighter with the injured hand that faced Lockridge, I like Chavez.

The better infighter and the chin that can withstand Arguello's fight changers/enders.

I like Chavez here too, especially if he boxes a bit more cautiously(or with more variety) than he did against opponents with lesser power. He has the right balance of power, skill, workrate and toughness to grind out the rounds.

It's one i've gone back and forth on over the years though.

I don't think it's a given Chavez would try press the fight and force the action against someone like Arguello.

Tough pick but Arguello and I think he could even KO Chavez. Chavez probably has the better footwork/defence though, Arguello the range accuracy and power plus he's at his best weight, Chavez is a little pre prime here

Arguello takes this due to him Countering Chavez. Both were ATG's, but Arguello was better.
