I recently had the pleasure of watching this fight for the first time and all I can say is WHAT A WAR!!! These two brutal punchers exchanged bombs throughout until Arguello's class shone through and he got the win. But Ganigan impressed the hell out of me. Sure he was reckless but he wasn't going to die wondering and until the end every time he was tagged he responded with big shots and aggression instead of going into his shell as many others would. It makes his current situation even all the more sadder in light of his great heart he exhibits here. This is a bit of a forgotten classic IMO as it doesn't get the attention of some of Arguello's other fights (Pryor,Mancini,Olivares,Escalera) but for mine it's every bit as good. Great lil fight. Ganigan's power was pinnacle level. May have lacked some (or a lot lol) things, but for single punch power he rates on the historical P4P top shelf.
of course not, pacquiao is on a completely different level from ganigan. love watching arguello fight. one of the best ever!
