Wow, just read that Arguello died of a possible suicide in
2009, I did not know that, unreal. Anyway on a lighter
note, Pretty Boy vs Arguello at 130. Is Floyd's speed and
defense too much? Can Arguello adapt, and score to
the body and stop Floyd down the stretch. Old school
    rules, 15 rounds. Thoughts

Arguello is quick, awkard, strong and keeps his distance. If anyone beats Mayweather at 130 it's Arguello. However I fell Mayweather is just better than anyone else at 130. I think it will be a good match to a point. I think it will also look like Mayweather/Corrales. With a lot less knockdowns. Over 15 rounds 9-6 or 10-5 Mayweather based on a 8-4 over 12 rounds.

this topic has been done too often and the usual outcome seems to be that floyd has the stylistic advantage and would be favoured to take it on points.

15 rounds is in Arguello`s favour much more than 12 rounds for a couple of reasons... 1. fmj has never went more than 12 in a fight & 2. Arguello might actually need those last 3 rounds to time fmj & take him out.

You have to fancy the style advantage is with fmj if he uses the same sort of style he used vs Corrales, he`d frustrate Arguello but Alexis is a very patient man & can take a punch far better than Corrales so fmj must have a flawless performance because its not going to get any easier due to Alexis being broken down, that simply would not happen.

Arguello by late stoppage or fmj by decision are the likeliest outcomes.

Julio Cesar Chavez is the only fighter at 130 lbs that is both good enough AND has the right style for me to pick over fmj & feel comfortable.
