Arguello vs Nelson @ 130

Thank you Azumah1 the uneducated seem to think Azumah was a pressure fighter not realising that he was a true chameleon of a fighter.

It doesn't matter how unique Nelson was, the only chance he would have had in a fight against Arguello would have been by clossing the distance, fight inside and take Arguello against the ropes. If he decides to fight from the outside then he would have been a seating duck.

Escalera tried to fight a close fight and had some succes in some rounds, specially with the uppercut, but Arguello overcame that and punished Escalera from all angles...

 

overall consensus on this thread is that AA Wins, it's just opinion since they never fought, what this board is about.

That takes nothing away from Azumah's accomplishments, or his high regard I believe on this board.

Just the consensus is that AA most likely would win.

People keep talking about what Nelson is "capable" of doing, but what would actually work for him against Arguello is what matters here.

Escalera was a well-rounded and multi-dimensional fighter too, but all his boxing ability didn't come to jack in their fights.

I asked the Nelson pickers earlier to outline a gameplan in which Nelson beats Arguello, but so far I haven't seen it. So far, the only "reasoning" I've seen is "Nelson can hit him, therefore Nelson wins."

 

I Agree, tell me how strategically and tactically Nelson beats AA at 130. Not just that AA is a one trick poney.

 

They can't as they know **** all about boxing. I myself would be able to make a plan for Nelson, but I can't as it always ends up with him taking too many hard, straight shots. And against Arguello at 130, that's not a winning plan.

 

Nelson was a lot of things for sure, but it's hard to forget the greatness that faces him here, as well! Arguello would be the favourite in betting, no if's or butts. It's a great contest.

 

Azumah1 outlined the strategy for you. In my match up of this it is Arguello who takes to much punishment and get knocked out. It is the type of thinking you display that get people like Hatton knocked out. I am bigger I am stronger wrong baby boy.

I am right and you are wrong that simple really. Next thing you will tell me Arguello would have beaten Chavez,Sanchez, PBF, Duran and Pernell Whittaker when if the truth be known I doubt that he would have beaten El Chapo Rosario.

By the way, Sweet Pea and Duran beat him, definitely. At 130, I think he beats Chavez and Floyd, though I think Sanchez would beat him prime for prime at FW. If Sanchez had lived and moved up to LW to fight Alexis (it was being talked about) who knows? But not seeing Sanchez at the higher weight, I'd have to go with Alexis by decision.

 

And Arguello would've destroyed Rosario IMO. Rosario was very, very good, but not on Arguello's level (IN MY OPINION, NOT I'M RIGHT, JUST MY OPINION)

 

You have just proved to me that you are certifiable. I was not sure before now I am.. Please don't tell me to sign out as you need to be hospitalized for your problems. Arguello beating PBF and Chavez don't make me laugh.

I agree it is great contest which the pride of Africa win stopping Arguello the pride of Nicaragua.
