Arguello vs. Pacquiao @135lbs

I think Pacquiao's all-around speed and left handed attack might trouble Arguello early, perhaps dropping him once or twice; but perhaps Arguello could figure him out halfway through, and then come on down the stretch to take back the fight.

 

Pac has problems against boxers with good right hands and Arguello had one of the best right hands in boxing history....... another thing in favour of Arguello is the fact that he defeated all the southpaw boxers he fought, he knew how to fight boxers with that stance.

If Arguello's right hand works, then Pac will not be able to trow as many punches as he does at the present.... his ouput would decrease.

JMM was able to counter Pac and use his right hand with success and therfore I think Arguello would have success too, and therefore I think he would have KOed Pac. JMM couldn't do the job because he doesn't have the punch that Arguello had and also his chin did not take Pac's punches well, but Arguello had an excellent chin.

Arguello would trade against Pac right in the centre of the ring if necessary, but I don't think Pac would stay in the pocket too long.... Arguello was a great body puncher and I think he will hit hard Pac's ribs. Arguello KO many boxers with body punches.

This fight reminds me of the fight between Arguello vs Ganigan.

 

Pac might trouble Arguello with speed, but down the stretch the tide will turn, as Arguello's punching accuracy begins to take over and eventually wear Manny down. Thus, Arguello by late TKO.

 

Lets face it, Manny's last three fights have been walks in the park...They have been that easy because of combination of him just being that damn good and the level of his opposition.

I most definitely see the more skilled and defensively able Pac giving Arguello some trouble early...but it really remains to be seen how Manny would handle one of the greatest last 1/3 fighters ever..Arguello would be bringing the ruckus late, I have a hard time seeing even a fighter as tough and fit as Manny holding up to that.

 

Pac wins the first four or five rounds as long as he sticks and moves........best weapon against a southpaw is right hand, Arguellon throws it down the pipe late on and stops Pac.

Arguello is a bigger, better, harder-hitting version of Marquez, I see no way Pac wins this. Although Alexis' handspeed deficiency means Pac does well early on, he is not the pure boxer Arguello struggled with. He gets involved and that is perfect for a man with the timing of Arguello.

 

The way I look at this is, Pacquiao brings some of the assets that Ganigan and Ramirez used to trouble Arguello, while Arguello brings some of the assets that Marquez used to trouble Pac.

The question then is, which matters more? :think

 

My2Sense, good point; I think Arguello hits too hard for Pac. Marquez rocked him in their 2nd fight, Arguello would put him away.

 

Also, are we talking 12 or 15 rounds?
