Arguments on how to beat Floyd are rubbish!

There is two different definitions of pressure, and Corrales doesn't fit one of them.

I think what I call pressure, and what I'd guess Ambition does, is the non-stop kind. Roberto Duran, Henry armstrong, joe frazier. Literally push fighters back all night long.

The example of pressure that Corrales used was being on the offense and the attacker. Technically, I'm sure you could call it pressure, but I don't think it is.

A fighter who backs people up, throws punches from all angles and is completely relentless is a pressure fighter. not a guy who prefers to attacks and stays at range to pick his opponent off.

Christ, Castillo pushed Corrales back plenty of times, because he ws, despite his lack of size, the better pressure fighter.

Mayweather has faced three of the type of pressure fighters, who I think had the style to give Mayweather problems.

Chavez.. He wasn't good enough and the smaller man.
Castillo. He probably won the first fight.
De La Hoya. Gave Mayweather his closest win on paper.

Two of the three capable pressure fighters Mayweather has fought nearly beat him. I'd say Hatton is a bgiger threat than either. As for Chavez, Hatton is miles past him in talent.

 

Well the thing is Jack I don't think Corrales was bad at what he was doing. I don't think he was even trying to lead is the thing.

Corrales did very well by stepping foward, offering a target and letting his opponents commit first. Yes that is some kind of pressure but it isn't real pressure. He was smart about what he was doing. Being much bigger than his opponents, letting them throw first left them open to left hooks. It just so happened that Mayweather was too fast for this to work. Everytime Mayweather hit him he would step off and Corrales couldn't find him.

Castillo on the other hand ain't waiting for you to get off first. He doesn't care if you commit or not, because he's gonna commit as often as he can. That is the type of pressure you gotta put on someone like Mayweather. You can't let him dictate the rythmn. Simply stepping forward ain't ever gonna do it.
