Damn, Bob is pissing all his top fighters off. All the old ****er has to do is promote the fights. Which he is good at. Nothing else requires his attention. I laugh at all the ******s who actually defend him.

Top Rank will be hurting to do business in the future if he doesn't change his ways and stop treating his fighters like he's the one that runs the show.

PROMOTERS WORK FOR THE FIGHTERS. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Arum is no dummy. He's been in the fight game for a while, and he's been one of the most successful promoters the sport has seen. He's a business man, and a business man's number 1 priority is his bottom line. Arum is out to protect his bottom line. Hoya and Mayweather left him and went on to make a ton of money. Cotto has left him, Donaire tried to leave him, and now Gamboa is trying to do the same the same thing. These fighters are starting to realize that guys like Arum may be stifling their earning potential, and that they should have a lot more control over their careers than they do now. Arum's response is to keep these guys under contract for as long as possible.

If I'm Chavez Jr., no way do I sign an extention at this point. His stock is going up, and should continue to go up. Once his contract is up, he'll have the earning power neccesary to have much more control over his career, and thus a much higher earning potential.
