You can say that now that you know what Pacquiao can do at 147 lbs, but at the time of the DLH fight, DLH's thinking is "here is this natural featherweight who'm Im' going to lure to me to fight at 147 lbs.
I'm going to weaken myself by dropping to 147 lbs, but I'll still be strong enough to beat a featherweight, I dont care how good he is, he wont be stronger then me at 147 lbs."

Pacquiao was a huge underdog even under those circumstances. 90% of the *******s on this board picked against Pacquiao that night. Their wish was for Pacquiao to give an account of himself and not embarrass himself.

  2. you just got owned again buddy

You can also ignore the fact that lack of re-hydration can cause severe brain damage, even death.

Yeah it makes perfect sense. A fighter with one foot in retirement, a loving father and husband is going to risk his millions for some thing that is obviously a medical suicide.

He would have suffered less physical harm by allowing Pac wear 4 oz gloves than not re-hydrating.

This no re-hydration clause is a myth. Even PEDs is more believable.

When boxers say their punch resistance is lower when they go down in weight, it has nothing to do with endurance or stronger muscles. It has to do with the amount of liquid in your skull. Dehydrating before weigh in removes a small amount in the skull. The liquid acts as a shock absorber for your brain when it smashes against your skull from a powerful force like a punch. Even the small reduction of this liquid increases your chances for major concussion by a significant amount - and gets you one step closer to dying.

So yeah, it makes perfect sense. ODLH (or any boxer with an IQ over 70) agreed to such madness.
Pretty sure some even allowed AIDS to be injected in to their *****.

Like what I said earlier, whenever you read something, think about it for a second if it does make sense. It's better than to use common sense instead of trying to absorb absurd informations.

You ****ing *******s are unbelievably unable to comprehend what is written.

DLH had no idea what Pacquiao was capable of as a Welterweight.......I'd be he had banked Pacquiao would'nt be able to put a dent on him at that weight, which would be the reason to take that fight even while coming in such a low weight.

......and follow along and read the thread *******.
....go back a few posts and read that I've said, I dont think its the case that there was a rehydration clause in the contract, but it would'nt suprise me if there was because of exactly of how DLH came into that fight weightwise.

I'm not stating it as fact *******. Learn to read and comprehend!:deal

.......and I'm not directing my post just to you crimson, there's a ******* who wears a stuffed vagina as her avatar that is'nt very good at reading and comprehending.

I remember the HBO 24/7 for DLH-Pac, and Oscar NEVER had problems, making the upper-mid 140's weight limit, as early as a couple of weeks before the fight.

In one episode, they showed him getting ready for a full 10 or 12 round sparring session (not filmed completely, only still photos and quick, short, edited glimpses allowed to be shown) where he weighed in at the mid 150's before climbing on top of the ring.

After the sparring session, he was down to the mid-upper 140's and he said that he got no problems with the weight, at all.

Why isn't it relevant or real? The only reason Arum and Pacquiao's team have made this bout a catchweight at 151lbs is to go for a World Title in an 8th weight class is it not? And the fact that Margarito is back from suspension, and is under Arum...it's made that easier.

Remember they were going after Foreman, but then decided it was too risky? Fair enough, but then they saw a chance to get that World Title in a bout with Margarito...this bout could have easily been made at 147lbs, but no...they chose to have it within the Light Middle division. So yeah, the "title" is relevant and real..."lmao".

    Your conjecture is all bull****.

You tthink that the dehydration clause made Hoya not gain substantial weight?

I will explain iou in medical jargon because I certainly earned tthat degree.

Scenarioo : 4 weeks before the fight, Hoya was already hovering near the wellterweight limit. hoya's walkiing weight was close to 160, yet a month before the fight, he was already emaciated.

There are only two conclusions you can derive :

    1. Hoya was dehydrated while training.

    2. Hoya was actually already at that weight a full month before the fight.

Option 1 . Is actually a bull**** choice because although trainers who train fighters to go down lower than their fighting weight would tend to decrease the caloric intake , it is done slowly as not to sacrifice muscle mass, which is needed for strength or power. Rather the target is to slowly decrease body fat to around 4 per cent.

Training dehydrated would also gain you nothing because you will be too sluggish. Besides training is about strategies and plan.

Option 2 seems the only credible choice.

Option two however has repercussions as that great amount of weight loss only means one thing, he lost muscle mass also. Hoya's body fat index at the start is not big to begin with.

If option two is what actually happened, this would explain why Hoya failed to gain weight even after an obvious attempt to come bigger in the fight by the evidence of IV marks in his arms.

Since he is not in a state of dehydrated state, infusing IV fluid has restrictions because you can not infuse more than 20 percent of your blood volume without causing pulmonary edema and other physiologic imbalances.

Simply, he can only receive a certain amount of fluid without him having any problem. Example : a normal 50 kilogram person has around 8-10 liters of blood and 20 per cent of that would bee 4 liters or around 2 kilograms of weight gain. no more than that otherwise you will end up going to pee all the time and in boxing, that would not be good especially if you receive a punch to the stomach which can cause you to literraly pee. However, a dehydrated person could absorb additional water.

Since you are entitled to make a conjecture, I will give mine.

There is a logical madness to the Hoya strategy because if he fights lighter, he becomes faster, albeit less powerful. They probably reckoned that a small decrease in amount of power, they would still be more powerful that what Pac has, plus with the increase in speed, they would prevail.

Bula, I really dont want to get into a long drawn out debate on the topic of DLH's weight vs Pacquiao, its been done many times and debated thoroughly right after the fight......but I think its pretty obvious that DLH made a big mistake coming in that low and then not putting on some pounds afterward......especially after not fighting at 147 lbs for nearly a decade.

Let me put in in persective for you Bula. What DLh did that night vs Pacquiao weightwise, would be the equivalent of Pacquiao signing a contract to fight a prime JMM at 135 lbs right now, weighing in officially at 133 lbs, and only hyrdrating up 2 lbs and walk into the ring at 135 lbs.
This after Pacquiao has already fought several fights as a Welter weiging close to 150 lbs.

......while Marquez weighs in at 135 lbs, and hyrdrates up to 142 lbs......

Guess who's getting massacred under these circmumstances Bula????

In fact, what DLH did was much worse than what I described for Pacquiao doing now, in that DLH had'nt fought at 147 lbs for much longer than Pacquiao's been away from 135 lbs.

I figured his fighting weight would be a few pounds below 150. He was 145 his last fight and with this fight coming at short notice you wouldn't think he could make it to 150 properly with a few months to prepare. Haters can say what they want, this catchweight was logical.

But "weight drained" and "dehydrated" cannot be used as a valid excuse for Oscar's supporters for that fight.

He did not massively cut weight, overnight to make the official weight.

He was within striking distance, weeks before the fight.

I think he had a high protein diet to lose his body fats much more efficiently, and I don't think that his pure muscle mass deteriorated because of his dieting. He just burned off all his 30 something belly fats much more efficiently.

If margo comes in on fight night under 155, it will be pretty clear that he had a clause in his contract to do this. However his team will never be able to admit this or risk the backlash from bob arum.

So just to make my position clear. The fight is at 151 pounds. I will bet Margo will come in on fight night under 155. Which means he only gained 4 pounds from weigh in to fight night.

And Hoya did not announced this rehydration clause because of the backlash from Arum?

The same Hoya sued by Pac for maligning his name?

Its possible that there was a rehydration clause, but personally I dont think that was the case......

I think that its more probable that DLH just went to low to soon during training camp, that he just put himself into a situation that he was'nt healthy enough to gain the weight back after the weighin and compete at a world class level, especially when you consider that in Pacquiao, we're talking about one of the best conditioned athletes, forget boxer, I'm talking about athletes in the world.

Only DLH really knows what or why he came so low, but I do know it was a monumental mistake to come that low whether it was planned that way or not.
