JMM at 140 sounds fair enough IF he destroys Katsidis. Otherwise Berto or winner of Alexander/Bradley should get a shot. I don't want to hear how Pac will easily destroy them. That's not important. I just believe if Pac was gracious enough to give Margarito a shot then Pac should easily be able to give outstanding, rising fighters a chance. It'll also be something fresh. I don't remember the last time Pac fought someone speedy/athletic.
The Margarito that Pac beat on Saturday would have stopped the Mosley that drew (lost) with Mora. Pac would crush Mosley now.
Except Shane doesnt really move, he doesnt really box anymore, hes a pretty straightforward speedy slugger who needs a target to punch at or hes lost in the sauce. Bradley would be a much much better fight (should he beat Alexander in impressive fashion) then an old Mosley.
- It will be a fight at 147 - or the guys usually associated to 147. - Freddie Roach wouldn't allow Pacquiao to fight the winner of Bradley/Alexander - the winner of that 140 lb encounter, in a ideal scenario, will likely be planned for Khan.
To be honest, I don't know that any of them have, but it's like Hopkins giving Jermain Taylor his chance, or Jermain giving Pavlik his chance, etc. There comes a time when he has to allow some of the young guys to opportunity to make their name. My point was that I would be more interested in seeing the Alexander-Bradley winner face Pac, than an old beat up guy who even if they win, can't really parlay that into anything of merrit. Whether it's Kahn, Ortiz, Maidona, Alexander, Bradley, Berto or any of the other young cats, I would like to see him give some of these guys their chance as opposed to the guys who have had their chances or are on the downside of their career.
Marquez fight would possibly be at 140 and Pac wins by KO. If Roach pulls that 144 or even 147, Marquez will be KO'ed very early. Fight Berto and vacate the WBC 154 title which was in the scheme of things to give Chavez a title fight. Maybe, that was the whole "let's have them fight for the 154 title to turn around and vacate and then have Jr get his chance at a real belt". We will see soon.
I would agree but he would at least pose a different style of challenge for Pac, but I don't think he has the goods to beat him. In fairness, when talking about guys like PBF or Pac, who really does have a "shot at winning"? The ignorance of youth, tends to make one believe they are invinceble and sometimes can be the "X" factor in pulling off this kind of win. I respect guys like SSM, Margarito, JMM, Hatton, ODLH, etc and their accomplishments speak for themselves but I just think it would be refreshing to see these great champions give the next generation their opportunity to take the baton...if they can.
Mosley with no jab would get pummeled. I don't know why Roach was so scared to put Pac against him anyway.
