Im not on the Mir bandwagon but you can forget about that. If this was Mir just after he's accident i may have agreed with you. But not taking into account he's win over Big Nog and on peak form Mir takes him down and subs him in no time. AA isnt a slouch on he's back but mentally the guy isnt strong enough. He doesnt have that fire in he's belly. All looks and no real substance. Its all well and good looking like one of Leonidas soldiers but the dude has to fight like one. Pitbull my ass.
Who are his losses. Fedor- everyone looses to Fedor. Sylvia- Ex Champion who has beaten everyone accept for Fedor, Nogueria, Mir and Coture.... you can't really argue with that. Pedro Rizzo - only fought the best fighters and he has beaten barnet, Severn and Coleman when they were the best.
I still hope AA can get back to the UFC, when he left Dana said he would be welcome back. But I'm not sure after his last brutall loss when he'll be back, he still has the tools to beat anyone but I can see him going back into his shell just like after his second Sylvia fight. Not to mention his boxing which he is going to try...as far as I know.
Sylvia has beaten everyone but who?!?!? You actually believe he's career ledger is a who's who list? I mean cabbge, Lambert, Monson etc are second rate heavies at best. There hardly a who's who list. That being said even when Tim was the UFC heavy champ it was abundantly clear he didnt have the skils to hang with most of PRIDE's heavyweights or the best heavies in the world which were not in the UFC. Anyway pretty much all of AA's losses have come by KO. He lost he's debut to that headcase Datsik with a stunning KO and that has pretty much been the sum of he's career. A nearly man who was only ever good enough to beat second rate heavies and il include Tim in that list :yep
Started this thread because I've dissed AA in the past, but it was uncalled for. 2nd rate or not, how many guys have gotten their first ko loss at the hands of Arlovski? And even in his second fight with Sylvia, that right hand he cracked Sylvia with would have knocked out a bear, I don't know how Sylvia survived. And that flying knee he attempted on Fedor, Irvin knocked out Terry Martin and Anderson Silva kod Newton with a flying knee on guy shooting for take down, Fedor just countered it perfectly.
I am with you, AA career is going fine, you could even argue his carrer is quite similar to Couture's so far. Arlovski get's more **** than any other HW.
Arlovski is a great fighter if you watched his fedor fight his stand up was amazing he simply got over zealous. His ground is iffy but whatever. On the UFC topic I am pretty sure he left on his own accord to get paid 10x as much in affliction haha... He had three straight wins in the UFC before he left He is now moving on to boxing, while being trained by Freddie Roach. I for one am excited to see how he does I think he can do quite well.
Why is AA's ground game iffy...when has he ever lost a fight from the ground? it's getting ktfo that has been his prob.
You know what? Your right, when he ended up on the ground in the EXC fight he had terrible defense, I couldn't believe my eyes. I am kind of excited to see him in boxing, he is one MMA fighter I would give a shot at having at least a moderate career in boxing.
I just rewatched the Fedor fight and Fedor didn't seem to have an answer for Arlovski's speed, Fedor looked worried, then the flying knee incident. No need for a rematch though, AA has felt Fedor's ko power and would probably be too cautious to engage the fight. What a shame.
