Armstrong-Ambers 2 : Why wasn't the welterweight title on the line ?

Armstrong held both the welterweight and lightweight titles at the time, but when he "lost" to Ambers he only lost the lightweight title.

In a fight five months earlier against Lew Feldman both his titles had been at stake.
Anyone know how Ambers-Armstrong worked out differently ?

In that period the defending champion could place prety much any terms in the contract that he wanted to.

The contract probably only stipulated that the lightweight title was on the line.
