I don't like the Pac - ODH "manufactured' fight, but I wonder if Henry Armstrong asked for pre-fight conditions before he went up against Barney Ross (feather champ vs welter champ)

All I know is Ross asked Armstrong to let him go out "like a Champ" late in the fight when it was obvious Armstrong was going to win.

................Not sure what you mean by "special conditions."

For example, I know Henry came in a lot lighter than Ross did, so weight wasn't a part of it.

Some people are saying Pac is asking for "this", ODH wanting "that", special weights, etc.

No, .... Armstrong and Ross just weighed in on the day of the fight and fought for the Welterweight Championship of the world I am sure.

.............Actually, I remember reading that they did have a stipulation about weight in that fight. Ross couldn't weigh more than twelve pounds more than Armstrong. Armstrong came in ridiculously light, at like 133 or something. Ross came down to 142, I think.

It was rumored Armstrong came in with weights in his shoes to appear heavier. I don;t know that I buy that, I think he had to weigh in with bare feet.

Armstrong did not carry Ross, or went out like a champ. In the late rounds or though out most of the fight, Armstrong try to take Ross's head off. The 15 round was hard to watch as Armstrong was trapping Ross on the ropes, and beating him around the body and head. He landed a good hook to Ross's head which put Ross on rubbery legs.
