    My favorite fight too brodhi.:good

Plus Chavez's problem against Pea wasn't that he wasn't physically good enough- although he could have been faster- it's that he didn't properly seal away Pea's movement, body or foot, with enough feints and/or combination work.

I totally agree. I think I might move him up a place or two into 4th spot.

Fair do's, you'll have a nervous breakdown at some point, we all do.

Going back to earlier, about to watch Serranos win over Villaflor (who I rate highly @ 130lbs) Villaflor was past his best, but should be interesting viewing :good

Alphabetically speaking (aside from the obvious modern [post 1980] schoices) I'm up to Khasoi Galaxy :good.

I was actually diappointed with bobby chacon, for some reason I held him in higher regard :huh

once I've studied the post 80's HOF'ers I'll move onto 50's, 60's and 70's and keep going back in 30 year increments.

I'll post my resume disections as I complete them because it's good to share knowledge I think.

A lot of my recent posts on the classic seem to be arguello related and I don't want people to think I'm biased or anything because I'm not even a fan of his  just seems topical atm.

Then again over on the general I have people telling me robinson wouldn't crack the top 50 WW today and Danny Williams is better than George Foreman :patsch

I'll save you the trouble with Khaosai; Conteras and Pical (I think?) and not much else.

His twin brother Khaokor, with truly dominant wins over Sung Kil-Moon and Wilfredo Vasquez, and so much more offensively diverse, skilled and intelligent, was far better :good

And here and the British: try and stay away from the General  :deal

Ah well, this research is gonna be painstaking but it'll be first hand stuff. I'll watch the footage, I'll gauge the opponents, i'll make my decisions :good

the only problem is the summer holidays are over now so I have 3 teacher training days this week and then the pupils return on monday so my time is a hell of a lot more limited now.

**** that, get them to add up all the HOFers on everyones record and to calculate said fighters K.O% against top opposition.

That will get the kinda' results you're after (bad pun intended)

    oh dear.

you know what I'd love that "today class you're going to research a famous boxer each. tell me everyone he fought who was a champion or top 10 ranked by the ring"

I'd be done in a couple of weeks lol.

I have Armstrong in my top three at featherweight, while Arguello lands around 6-8 on my featherweight lists. Both guys put up gargantuan numbers at this weight in the early stages of their career. The Olivares victory might be more eye-catching, but Armstrong beat an awful lot of really good fighters, and holds at least one clean victory over a fighter who cracks my Top 10 at 126lbs (Baby Arizmendi)

Lightweight is a bit of a tougher call. Arguello has greater quantity, but Armstrong defeated Ross as a lightweight, and holds victories over Montanez, Ambers, Feldman, et al at the weight. That's prolly enough for him to shade this, imo.
