Let's look at the top 5 opponents he can fight right now

1.Regis Prograis:Would be a great fight but would Regis want to be anywhere near Devin?

2.Jose Carlos Ramirez:Best option imo. FOTY contender.

3.Gary Antuanne Russell:Huge step up for Russell but one he should take seeing as though he only fights once a year.

4.Liam Paro:His supposed fight with Subriel Matias was surprisingly cancelled. Maybe the Aussie agreed to fight someone else.

5.Sandor Martin:Bad fight for Barboza. The Spanish Matador is looking for his next victim.

I guess Devin didn't want to be shown up as the most featherfisted guy on the card.

I have no clue who he will fight. I have reasons but also doubts.

No sure if Regis will come back to boxing for a title. I know it's just 1 fight but Regis has looked finished before the Haney fight.

Paro vs Barboza would be great.

Ramirez vs Barboza prob won't happen since Golden Girl wants to build them up together.

    GAR makes the most sense.

Not sure they can afford Regis. Ramirez-Barboza is definitely not a chief support fight IMO given GBP just shelled out for both. Paro probably wouldn't take it if they couldn't make a deal with Matias money-wise.

Not knowing Russell's promotional situation (whether he's still with the PBC?) I think a potential option is Nestor Bravo:
    (a) Last fight was on DAZN
    (b) Undefeated (22-0)
    (c) Strong rankings in the WBO, where Barboza is the mandatory, and the WBC.

I could also potentially see Valenzuela as an opponent, but could see him going on a Canelo card; maybe that's a fight for Paro, avenging Spark's controversial defeat?

Isn“t Barboza also a backup for the main event?
He will likely be in a complete mismatch because this is a PPV of course.
They wont put any meaningful fights on this.
