Probably needs a better opponent if he wants to shift the many tickets still on sale https://tickets.axs.com/eventShoppe...uk/events/306596/haye-day-tickets?&ref=evs_fb
Haye fought de mori because he had a farcically high ranking with the wba, something like #7. Gjergjaj won't last three rounds if this fight does happen.
My take on Haye's comeback. To me, against De Mori, he looked slow and quite ponderous, compared to his peak. It was his speed that enabled him to get to bigger men and land his power shots. Can he do that now, against opponents 5,6, 7 inches taller? Haye isn't a stupid man and must have realised this too. But he's a master salesmen and will no doubt enjoy a few 02 pay days before stepping up against Josuha/Fury etc and banking few million before retiring. He might harbour the dream everything might click into place when he steps up to challenge for a world title, but honestly, a shortish heavyweight, minus speed, is merely left with a puncher's chance.
same here. He looked huge but much much slower. His power will still be decent but it was always his single shot hand speed that made him a threat. He needs 3-4 rounds against a live body. A guy going 10 with Bahktov probably means he can take an OK shot and inst totally packing glass but I was hoping for a noticeable step up and this isn't it... If he wins you can bet Haye will try for the Briggs fight.
depends if he can still shift tickets. If he can he will probably get given a title fight at somepoint. If not he will have to start taking on guys who pose a threat.
He went 7 rounds out of the scheduled 8 with Zarate who Hughie Fury recently destroyed in two. This opponent is worse than any of us could possibly have expected :-(
Haye is mugging off the punters with this no mark bum. He's just looked at boxrec and went who is the weakest guy in the top 40 and went, Git me Ggarbage
Let's see Haye and his band of brain dead fans spin this one. This match up is terrible....Brigg would have been a better match up.
I would give Haye a pass on this if he fights again a couple of months later. I can understand him wanting a few easy fights to get back into the groove but FFS he shouldn`t be fighting poor fighters like this every 6 months.
