Ha ha ha. That's so funny man..couldn't have said it better. I usually just come on this board to read for the sake of my own knowledge, mostly on the classic forum. (the guys over there *really* know their stuff). Occasionally I check out some threads on the general forum, and I honestly don't know how anyone could work up the enthusiasm to even give a one word answer to most of the idiotic and inane name calling sessions that pass for "topics" here

    only on the general forum...

-would floyd mayweather be considered by many to be a top 5 ATG

-would someone seriously try and argue that B-Hop would beat Rocky Marciano...or Bob Foster...etc etc etc

-Could there possibly be 15 people who voted for Holy over Lennox in their first fight

ha ha ha complete and utter hogwash for the most part

It's a little miss leading when people use that term in boxing (i know i used it before ). Other sports use more updated training techniques but a lot of boxers use similar training methods that have been around for decades. Hopkins is a prime example of this.

I think though that people nowadays have a better understanding of what old school methods to use and when and how long to use them because 1) we have a better and more in depth understanding of what each individual exercise does for the body and 2) basic trial and error. The more something is done over the years the more it is perfected.

Better understanding of diet and nutrician also helps boxers nowadays. Although that hasn't helped 90% of todays heavyweight's.
