According to “Vale Tudo News”, Brazilian ace Ricardo Arona (13-5-0) announced that he has signed a four fight deal with Russian organization M-1. The opponent(s), due to contractual issues, weren’t revealed. Arona said that he is now focused in his debut, in December. When asked if the first fight would be with Fedor Emilianenko (26-1-0), Ricardo Arona smiled and kept his silence.

Good start, its a fight that should have been made in pride, but they still need true heavyweights.

now if only M1 could get Barnett (and why not...Couture ? )
They can't get their hands on kharitonov yet cause he still has 1 or 2 fights for K1's Heros. I wonder if fedor's brother will fight in the same org too.

Sort of a shame. White was essentially had all of MMA in check, one move away from check mate, all he seemed to have to do was get Fedor with a generous offer.. He could have had every major piece of MMA in gracious move for Barnette..

Greed may be just the thing to create a domino effect and put MMA back at what it was five years ago, with two major players in the MMA world.. If
M1 emerges as a generous, clean and entertaining organization that caters to an international audience, instead of simply a US one, they could go very far..
