thoughts??? i see the mighty minto going out in this fight Minto targets Arreloa! WBO#10 heavyweight Brian The Beast Minto (32-2, 21 KOs) is targeting WBO#3 Chris Arreola (26-0, 23 KOs) for a heavyweight showdown on April 11th on HBO. Minto believes that Arreola is no more worthy than he is for a title shot with WBO champ Wladimir Klitschko. In my opinion, Arreola has not earned a title shot. He has neither fought a former champion nor even a title challenger. I have fought several. Chris has won on HBO, but I have won on HBO PPV, Minto stated. Both heavyweights have a very aggressive style, and the potential for fireworks clearly exists. Minto states, A fight between two top ten heavies would help clarify the status of the heavyweight division. In addition, I believe that the winner of a fight between Arreola and myself should fight WBO #1 challenger Alexander Dimitrenko (29-0) in a final WBO heavyweight eliminator to determine who gets a shot at Wlad. Im willing to earn my shot. Is Arreola willing to earn his?
Arreola's team will hold out, just in case the Wlad/Haye fight falls through.....I wouldn't mind seeing this fight, nor do I really disagree with Minto's plan for an eliminator
Brian Mintos idea is great. First a match with him and Arreola, then a final eliminator between the winner and Dimitrenko. Minto has the potential to beat both of this guys
if the fight really comes together i will consider putting a couple of hundred euros on arreola. it's almost as sure as kessler-häußler.
What a great idea! Minto is a popular guy, at least he comes to fight, and no doubt Arreola vs. Minto would be a great fight. Also, if either had to fight Dimitrienko it would A) show if either guy can fight against a tall, robotic European fighter B) Whether Dimitrienko is the goods or not. Sadly boxing never makes this much sense, so don't hold your breath.
I'd like to see this fight. Arreola would embalm Minto and hopefully put an end to any speculation that Minto is anywhere near a contender. I've never seen such a mediocre fighter get so much attention. Sure Minto is an action fighter, so is Butterbean. But why would Arreola take two steps back to bother with Minto?
