O.K. Good question. I saw in him the same thing I saw in a young Rachman. The guy is not just tall but really big and strong. He has I think a great chin and an attacking style that has bothered Wlad in the past. Like you say he throws punches in bunches and applies pressure. I just was hoping he would really train hard like Wlad does and improve as a fighter and then this. Another fat, ridiculous looking American pig of a heavyweight contender. From now on I will stick to the European forum to look for the next big heavyweight challenger to the Klits.
Arreola has more upside than any of the three you mentioned. Grant had some skill and size but just didn't seem to be a fighter at heart. Williamson got started too late and lacked the durability to compete with todays sized fighters. Guinn had a lot going for him but just lacks the desire anymore, he seems burnt out. Arreola has some flaws like lack of defense and mediocre handspeed. But he brings some tools as well. Arreola is an aggressive, two handed, banger. He seems to have solid power, a good chin, and most importantly he has a fighter's mentallity. He does an ok job of cutting the ring off and goes for the kill round after round. I think he could be a solid heavyweight, not on a Klitschko level at all but he could hang around as dangerous contedner for a few years. The big problem with Arreola seems to be his weight. Coming in this heavy makes it look like he just isn't dedicated enough to make it at the top level. Walker is decent but nothing special and even coming in too heavy Arreola should be fine tonight. But weighing atleast 15-20 pounds too heavy is really disappointing. He's on HBO and fighting an opponent made to make him look good and he lacks the discipline to come in shape for it. He'll stop Walker in about 6-7 rounds in what should be a fun fight but this makes his future very questionable. He might just waste his chance by not taking it serious enough.
there are plenty of out of shape fighters everywhere else. arreola just happens to be another one of those. but lets just rate his performance and see how he does in the ring before you knock the guy for being heavy. but it still is disgusting that a professional athlete wouldnt want to be at his best everytime he performs.
This guy is hit it's obvious he dosen't give a **** about his career so **** him !! i hope he get's KTFO tonight..
Thing is, Arreola had very ordinary quickness against Chad at 239, so 250plus will not help his case. Also Chad landed at will at him, just lacked the power to put him out. With Walker is a different situation, if he eats flush shots like that, as sturdy as his chin may be, he will be in trouble. Add to that Walker looks to have showed up in the shape of his life for this fight. Arreola is a large guy but his fighting wheight should never be over 242lbs.
Arreola vs Vladimir Klitschko is a complete mismatch. Arreola is way too slow, and lacks the skill needed to amount any offense. Klitschko will take him out early and easily. Arreola is going to lose the first time he steps up.
I agree with you, especially now. Arreola looked really slow, slower than I thought and ridiculously easy to hit. He's dead man walking against the Klits and really most top ten fighters. If he lost 30lbs. he might be a little speedier and mobile but seems just another lazy American heavyweight contender. I'm almost thinking Brian Minto might beat Arreola. At least Brian has good head movement and comes in great shape to his fights.
