According to Cedric Kushner Arreola turned to a deal to fight Tua where he would get 100% of the US take. http://tvnz.co.nz/othersports-news/boxing-legend-says-tua-s-not-contender-3445860/video
Yeah, he said 100% of the U.S intake to fight Tua in his backyard. How much is Tua getting from the Aussie revenue?
And I think that's a smart move... I can't think of any way how Arreola could beat him. Ends with a brutal KO for Tua if it ever happens.
Did you even listen to the video? The fight should take place in New Zealand and you believe that an American TV station would pay $ 3.000.000 to broadcast this fight before noon? OMG... We shouldn't forget: Arreola will fight a credible opponent; I can't say the same about Tua.
So this fight would take place in NZ and be on TV at like what, 11:30AM in the PST? No TV station is willing to take that fight under those circumstances. Plus, what would be Arreola's motivation should he beat Adamek to travel to NZ for that fight? He is what, 1 fight out from Haye-Ruiz winner? A bigger fight for a belt as opposed to fighting for penny's against Tua in NZ. No wonder he didn't take that offer.
TV stations would air this. HBO loves Arreola. Not only would HBO air this, they'd put together a web documentary of Arreola hanging out with his buddies, eating twinkies and looking at other people train. The reason Arreola would not take this fight is because he is certain to lose. And, he really doesn't need another beating after that humiliating crying affair.
Stupid idea, Tua isn't a big US draw anymore (if ever) and Arreola going over there makes no sense at all for him. He beats Tua, then it's "Tua was done".. and if he loses he's "gatekeeper" status from here on out. The fight with Adamek makes way more sense.
