To say he's not ripped, is to say King Kong was a somewhat big ape.

Ripped, and Arreola condition is as far apart as you can get.

That said............I think his skills are very, VERY limited, and his marketability is going down the drain with this loss.

I have a build abit similar to Chris' but more muscular. However I am honest what my best weight is and working towards it. I have been lighter at an optimum weight and am honest about the virtues of it. Arreola needs to realize the virtues of shedding 20 to 25 pounds. He can shed just that in fat alone and not worrying about steaming away muscle. And he has been at the lighter weights that have been optimum for him(the 230's). Hey Sam Peter is doing it, so can Chris.

To those who think once he sheds weight that he'll magically become world's better: it's gonna take more along the lines of refining his technique. he under uses his jab(he could double/triple it more and actually look for the right time to attack behind it....instead of just jabbing once or twice and then rushing in. Let the jab create the openings and force the opponent's positioning to where opening up is favorable to open up offensively. Chris seldom moves his head and rushes in wide open because of his confidence in his chin and his brawler mentality. That's good and all if you can catch your opponent but if they stick and move but fail to adjust you'll be getting hit and missing all night...and the judges won't credit you with squat(unless their tripping on acid)

Lastly he doesn't punch straight very much or too compact. This wasn't an issue until he met the likes of Klitschko and Adamek....who had the experience to avoid the looping shots and counter with tighter ones.

He is in much better shape and has better stamina than any of the fat asses that post on in this forum. He has the potential to be even better.

Arreola at 240 or below destroys Adamek.

Maybe not destroys but he gets the fight by late stoppage. A too heavy Arreola did pretty good against Tomas. A lighter one with better tactics and technique gives him.....Nightmares

Blaming genes is very convenient for a fighter. Still, it doesn't sound reliable in case of someone who competed in LHW (watch his fights there, he looks simply skinny there) and even already as a pro was still able to go from 250+ to 230.

I agree with that but before burning off the pounds you need a good diet. He can still do road work but it wont do **** since he eating James Toney style (or Joan Guzman)

There is no fat boxer that wouldn't improve markedly by losing weight.

Speed, endurance, balance etc all will improve.

Yep, Arreola needs to work on his skills. But simply being in shape is easier, and would make him much more competitive.

His power was notable when he was at a lower weight.

He does have really good stamina for a big eating machine. If he was in top shape though it would only help him.

Tell that to the Michael Moore who fought Foreman.

What Arreola lacks is not training, but boxing skills, if you guys can't see that you have obviously never fought in ring, and you don't know **** about boxing. Arreola is a grown man now. Grown men put on weight, especially heavyweights, and those of his body type.

You guys need to quit living in you pre-pubescent 150 lb fantasy world.

Not to mention his diet.. You can do all the situps in the world but if you're diet isn't what it should be those ab muscles will never show. The man needs a new team.

Arreola looked like he had worked on his jab in training for his fight with Adamek, but Cris claims he injured his left bicep mid-way through the bout and it hindered his ability to snap the jab later in the fight...... WTF?

Funny how HBO kept saying that Arreola appeared to have hurt his right hand late in the fight...... I too thought Arreola hurt his right when he tagged Adamek high on the head in the 8th or 9th round....

Arreola has heart and soul, but his skills are one-dimensional....... Arreola wings and zings his shots way too much..... A seasoned pro (Klit & Adamek) can see all of Arreola's shots coming before they are actually launched....
