my ass off at people talking about him being a serious threat to the Klitschkos. Vitali already TKOed his ass. Then he goes back to feasting on bums, and last night he struggled with a guy who took the fight only on a couple weeks notice, while Arreola himself was peak shape after having had a full camp in peparation for thr Aguilera fight. Arreola was made to look awful last night, and the only reason he got the stoppage was because Releford was out shape and gassed. Give Releford a full camp and he may very well have decisioned Arreola's plodding ass. The bottom line is that Arreola is a plodder with slow feet. He has no skills, and he will never be HW champion.
he's definitely in a spot. continue as he is and never have the stamina to be top tier... or lose a bunch of weight and possibly his punch resistance goes with it....we've seen what draining a bunch of weight does to fighters: roy jones, chris byrd, ect
Arreola is not a club fighter but a guy that is a C boxer trying to fight A level. I think he just trying make his money etc.
You are comparing Arreola's body style to Jones and Byrds? If Arreala gives an interview one day and you don't even recognize him like when Byrd dropped to LHW, then maybe I will agree with you.
i'm not saying he's there. but thats all the talk recently. "arreola serious. arreola disciplined. arreola's losing weight."
Arreola looked good. He'll never be heavyweight champ as long as either Vitali or Wladimir are fighting, but after they've retired he has a chance. Releford is always in shape, and was in shape last night. He's a trainer, and has family members who have boxed too...so he knows the game. Releford's only other KO loss was to Williamson by KO in the 9th...so Releford seems to have a pretty good chin.
Arreola has potential. He wont beat either Klitschko but a serious, well conditioned Arreola is a sold B fighter. Good handspeed, good power and best of all he is exciting.
Are you serious??? B plus?? He's slow and has no skills. Just a crude brawler. A testament to how pathetic the HW division is today. Chambers and povetkin would school that slob. Haye would probably stop him.
At his best, at HW Arreola is a journeyman. At CW he might be a gatekeeper or contender At LHW, a division I believe he could make if he had discipline, he would be a serious threat.
I don't think he's a club level, no, but as has been said already, he's no threat to anyone in the top five........ And probably never will be. I'd love to see him fight Tua or Sam Peter, though.
I think he has a 50/50 shot of beating Haye imo. You seem to be underestimating him, yes he didn't get the early KO but so what? He won every round in what was a keep busy fight. Let's be honest here that chap he beat did well, showed a good defence and heart, he deserves a bit of credit for that.
