This, end of the thread. And if he's slimmer than usual, like he is, then expect him to be even more good than usual. He may be overweight, but he's still one of the best american heavyweights.
If Arreola has really been training hard this time then he and his team need to sit down and look at what they are doing because in terms of conditioning it's not showing at all. Chris is about 6' 3", I don't think he has any business being north of 225 lbs and I've been saying this for years. If he came in at that weight he could do some serious damage in the ring, rather than just doing some serious damage at Mr Wu's all you can eat Chinese buffet...
Which is why you most likely work at a Sushi bar with your **** poor knowledge. Why would he drain down to 215 when his body is used to 235-245?, moving down that low in a short period of time for one fight could ruin and weaken him.
genetics my a**, Arreola is looks like a fat slob, because he isn't disciplined enough to stop eating fat foods and years of drinking alcohol which is a good reason for his beer belly. Arreola probably went to a buffet or fast food restaurant after the weigh in and he used alot of energy during the buildup and wouldn't be surprised if he gasses even earlier tonight.
Then you dont know much about sports or are just ignorant. He can fight, he has shown that but is he at his best? Is he staying away from drinking and eating the right foods? Obviously not.
Agree-I think he's at his ideal fighting weight and you will see around the 5th round he will turn up the heat.
Firstly, I didn't say 215 I said 225. Secondly, I didn't advocate him draining down to that weight for this one fight I think that is the weight he should always have been fighting at. Too many heavyweights come in far too heavy and Arreola is one of them. He's never going to be a David Haye type but I believe that he could be a stone lighter without compromising his power and his stamina would increase massively. Thirdly, I know some very knowledgeable boxing people who work in sushi bars...
Where the fk are you coming from suddenly? Maybe you misread the intention of my post but to start slinging **** I really don't know what you got out of that post. Let me rephrase then. Even though he clearly has a very high body fat percentage and conventional knowledge dictates that would significantly impede his ability to fight ... it doesn't. At least not to the extent that people expect it to do. He fights well, doesn't run out of stamina any more than his peers and brings the fight everytime he steps into the ring. So basically what I'm saying is, stop beating a dead horse - YES he can be better, YES he SHOULD be better ...BUT he rarely disappoints, so quit moaning about his shape ffs.
He tricks me every time atsch I will be against him and 100 percent sure he has no chance and then he starts talking and I buy it again bro:roll: Ummmmm:think sort of like my ex-wife :smoke
Why not "***** and moan" about his shape? He keeps saying he looses because he is out of shape and you too said that he can be better. I guess we all want him to be at his best and not mock us with the constant "i am taking it seriously now" bullcrap. He could be a little faster, a little sharper and a little mobile. And to all that you can add the fact that he could better his technique if hes every camp was not focused on weight loss.
Yes he can fight, but he can't fight well. His best win is either an over the hill McCline who he dragged out of retirement to put a recognisable name on his record or Mitchell who had already been exposed by Banks. Arreola in reality isn't even a top 10 heavy, he's probably never even beaten a top 20 heavy, just a bunch of journeymen or faded contenders. His weight doesn't seem to effect his work rate or stamina. But it does effect his mobility and it also effects his progression as a fighter. He spends 90% of his effort in camp just getting down from being obese to just overweight when he could be putting more effort in improving his skills, such as head movement, body punching, feinting, strategy, cutting off the ring etc. Look at how Chisora has improved now that he has sorted out his weight issues, his recent run of wins is far more impressive than anything Arreola has done for years.
I think Arreola just is who he is at this point. Can't think of too many boxers reinventing themselves at this late stage of a career. It's pointless to even hope for it.
Promising career at cruiserweight. He doesn't have the right build to compete with Wlad no matter how fit and talented he is.
