i like arreola
he brings his all/lets his hands go/and makes the most of what talent he has.

you do not always need talent to go to the top

determination and will to win/combined with a great chin can be enough to beat a more talented fighter.

with his style arreola`s chin will be the deciding factor on how far he goes.

if it is granitwe then he will be an uncomfertable fight for every heavy.

if he gets rocked and put on the backfoot and is made to think about coming in and getting inside he will be found out skillwise.

IMO he beats this version of david tua though.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Standing at six foot four and weighing in between 235 and 245 pounds, Arreola has the average Heavyweight build. With power in each hand, Arreola has developed solid boxing skills within the last three years. If he is not scoring quick knockouts, Arreola is in control and slowly breaks them down.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]It is something that he learned picking up as a young boy growing up in the predominantly-Latino section of East Los Angeles watching his idol Julio Cesar Chavez. Watching Chavez in open workouts at the Azteca Gym in Bell Gardens pushed Arreola to pursue boxing, despite being a standout athlete playing football and basketball in high school.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]It is his drive to become the first Heavyweight champion of Mexican descent. Both his parents were born in Mexico, while Arreola was born in Southern California.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]His next bout will be another step up as former world title challenger David Tua could be a possible opponent. Whoever it would be, Arreola knows he will be at his best again.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"I look forward to a Tua fight," acknowledged Arreola, who was coming off of a first round destruction over Cliff Couser in February. "I know that whoever will be my next opponent will get a fighter who is getting better every time out."[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Arreola points out that the training and discipline is what makes his performance in the ring look easy. Having Ramirez and getting solid sparring in the gym are key ingredients as well.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]However, Arreola acknowledged that sparring solid rounds with Heavyweight contender James Toney has been a godsend. Arreola feels that he has learned extensively physical and mental attributes from the former world champion in three weight classes.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"I have learned a lot from James," said Arreola, who has a six year old daughter named Danae. "I have learned be calm during sparring and in fights. James is so relaxed and it seems as though everything comes easy to him. As a young fighter, that is something that I picked up on."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Arreola has made fans fighting throughout Southern California, across the country where he fights, and lately on national television.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]However, there are detractors who feel that Arreola is more hype than talented. One such individual, Heavyweight prospect Jason Estrada, recently criticized Arreola for not fighting tougher opponents and stating that Arreola is all hype.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Now in his fifth year as a professional, Arreola has come a long way as a fighter and as an individual. Fatherhood has placed a sense of responsibility and maturity on Arreola, which he readily accepts.[/FONT]

I'm just curious how you guys can make any definititve statements about Tua at this point? Have you seen any of his recent fights? I haven't seen the guy since the Rahman fight.

My opinion is that Tua would be a smart option for Arreola. Goosen knows what he's doing. Tua is a name fighter who is most likely faded from what he once was. Whatever you say about Arreola, he's an aggressive young guy with strength and what appears to be a good chin.

I haven't seen Tua lately, but just factoring in age and lack of meaningful fights in years, I think Arreola outworks and uses Tua as a stepping stone to a more meaningful fight.
