Let's not get ahead of ourselves here... areola just beat Seth Mitchell for crying out loud... I'd like to see areola/wilder or arreola/jennings

Believe it or not, I think has a better business sense then "we" give him credit for. If he beats Wilder it will be close to the same reaction he got for beating Mitchell, bit whoop. If he loses then he is back of the line. I seriously doubt he is scared of Wilder. If he fights Stiverne he will either become the champion if Vitali retires, of cashes out if Vitali chooses to fight again, both of those equal more money than the path of Wilder would bring him. After all he self-admittedly has a Corona and Chulupa habit to fund, lol.

Well, if Arreola has another credible fight and wins decisively over one of the current runners-up - Povetkin, Pulev, Stiverne, Haye/Fury, another title shot might be in the making. Especially, if there's good money in it. Can't see Chris beating Wlad, though.

Getting a title shot is fine but he has to PROMISE not to cry if he loses next time...... I can't stand seeing him weep like someone stole his chinchilla.
Whoever the title holder is has to build a crying clause into the contract.

Wlad has been trying to give Arreola a title shot for two years and Arreola keeps saying no thanks. Now Arreola wants another shot with Stiverne after losing fair and square not to mention handily. For a guy who just won the biggest fight of his career against a guy he was a -450 favorite against, you would think he is now in position to start calling all his own shots the way some of you are talking.

Arreola should gladly take the Wilder fight if he actually thinks it will be such easy work. Then if he wins he will be in position to turn down another title shot against Wlad.

Of course he wants another shot at Stiverne, and he doesn't seem like he's demanding anything. Under the rules of the WBC he just beat the number 2 guy in the rankings, meaning he'll be #2 with Stiverne the #1 guy. This just makes so much more sense for him than fighting Wilder, it is a no-win situation. If he beats Stiverne again he either becomes the WBC champion - if Klitschko retires to chase his political career - or he gets a MUCH bigger paycheck to fight Klitschko in what would probably amount to Klitschko's swan song.

Also, the Wilder fight can do much better business down the road if Arreola ends up with the WBC belt in one of these situations. There is no reason for him to fight anyone else to earn another shot at Stiverne, under the WBC rules he has earned it. I really don't see the Chris hate here if he decides to not fight Wilder now, it really just doesn't make sense. Yet.

Arreola doesn't deserve any shot at any title at this point in time. to suggest he does just shows how criminal your way of thinking is.

he was given the red carpet treatment by the WBC yet again by sanctioning his fight with another unproven fighter in Stiverne to be an eliminator. he was clearly beaten. but he's now back near the top (don't ****ing ask me how) of the WBC rankings by being at number 2 after a win over another unproven fighter in Mitchell.

he hasn't beaten a top 20 fighter once. so how the **** has this happened!?

just shows you how much of a joke the world of boxing can be sometimes.

Have to admit there is no point in Arreola vs Wilder for Areola if he beats Stiverne then he gets a world title shot

Wilder should fight Malik Scott or Jennings

Arreola wants nothing to do with Wlad and has decided it's better to gamble that Vitali's age has caught up to him. He's not fighting Wlad until Wlad shows he's slowed down.

And after Wlad does show he's clearly slipped a couple of levels, Chris, along with a host of others, will all of a sudden find their balls again and decide to take on the champ. He's essentially a vulture who has no faith in his ability to take down the big game himself. He's got to let father time do the work for him, then he'll pick off the scraps.

Before I get called out as being unfair, it's not just Arreola with that attitude. Way too many "contenders" are all too happy to let someone else take a beating against Wlad. In their minds, they're already beaten before they sign the contract.

arreola/wilder sounds great, but arreola is doing what alot of fighters would do. he wants to get revenge and redeem his loses. if cris gets stiverne rematch u kno hes asking for adamek or vitaly.

and for wilder i would love for him to face off vs another prospect ...how bout jennings its a perfect fight. another good one for wider is wilder/ruiz jr

Arreola wants a rematch with Stiverne because he wants a title shot. A fight with Wilder would do nothing for him, unless Wilder fights someone alive.

Finchley puncher Del Boy is more enraged that unbeaten Deontay Wilder recently slipped into Great Britain on the quiet to spar with David Haye, when he claimed earlier this year that he couldn’t leave the US to fight Chisora at Wembley Arena on June 15 because of his arrest for battery.

First, Golden Boy is gonna have to throw a LOT of cash at Chris for him to take a fight with Wilder.
Second, I believe that Arreola is more concerned with positioning himself for a shot at Vitali's belt(vacant or not). For that reason, I think that it's far more likely that he'll rematch Stiverne or Adamek(if Stiverne ends up fighting Vitali next) to make himself #1 contender and first in line to fight for the vacant belt when Vitali retires.
