He is what he is, and I don't see him competing with the top heavies, anymore. Arreola has *learned how to lose*, now, and I venture to say he'll stuggle to stay on the level he is currently on, and will never be a real threat to anyone of the top five, again.................He was humiliated against Vitali, and Adamek, fresh up from the lower weights, also clearly beat him. Arreola is now firmly seen as a B level fighter who will probably never be more than he is........ His name is no longer seen as *up and coming*, and people already know what to expect from him......................He may be on a PPV undercard, or headline FNF, or boxing after dark, but that's about all his name is worth, now.
I agree i am also a fan and i am in the minority of those who think Arreola could have gotten a draw with Adamek. BUt id like to see him ko a couple of tough journey man types before he fights for atitle again. I think he could beat Valuev,Peter,Tua right now, and if he comes in shape id give a good shot over Chambers,Povetkin or even David Haye.
Count me in the camp that believes Peter would **** him up. First and foremost Peter has been in with better comp and has faired much better than Arreola. Secondly Peter is actually in decent shape (last I saw him) and at a minimum has demonstrated the ability and committment to actually lose weight and be in shape. No way Arreola beats Peter...IMO.
Cool, I'll make plans to go out for once that Friday night and save myself some DVR space by turning off the auto-record on ESPN2. :good
If Arreola wants to finish his career with a third loss, then he should fight Ibragimov or Briggs. Powerpunching Briggs would put Arreola to sleep within four rounds. Ibragimov will frustate the hell out of Arrela, and box his way to a decision. The TV execs won't have an easy time finding Arreola a suitable comeback opponent. A lot of supposedly "beatable" foes are pretty dangerous, given Arreola's known weaknesses. Simultaneously, a lot of definitely beatable guys will not make for a good TV fight.
