Prime Arreola would have a good chance to beat nowadays Wilder. Wilder seems to hate when the pressure is on him
I disagree on multiple levels, I thought Arreola-Adamek was pretty one sided clear victory whereas even if you think Huck won (I didn't but I'll concede you could have it for Huck), it was a close fight and could be scored either way, that much most will admit. Not to mention, Povetkin's improved after Wlad fight (due to PED's/whatever who knows) and Huck was his worst performance IMO. Arreola-Adamek was Arreola in or near his "prime", now Arreola is pretty much shot. So the outcome to me would be totally clear, I'd pick Povetkin to win 10/10.
Though off topic, Arreola as an opponent, honestly I have no problem with it. Wilder tried to fight Povetkin, Povetkin got "busted" for PEDs (whichever it is now, keeps changing every 2 days), I can't really fault Wilder for that fight falling through. Arreola isn't the best opponent but at least he's a known name and is passable especially since he's pretty much a stand in for Povetkin.
I think Arreola is too plodding and slow to really trouble Wilder, even in prime. I think it'd be somewhat like the Stiverne fight.
Stiverne didn't bring the pressure on Wilder that was one of his biggest mistakes in that fight. Prime Arreola would have done that and quite possibly Seth Mitchelled Wilder. :hey Now he will be gassed after 1-2 rounds.
But if he doesn't get caught in those 1-2 rounds, I think he will almost certainly get to Wilder. Even now.
Arreola 5 years ago would have been all wrong for Wilder.. But he's shot to **** today...Which is exactly the reason he was selected. Here's to hoping it turns out to be a cherry pick gone wrong.
I think we can now safely say that the poll results are certainly not doing my case any favors. :smoke
I guess you forgot to take your anti-Russophobia medication. Struggling with Huck who is an elite level cruiserweight with a similar height to Povetkin is not something to be ashamed of. Povetkin flattens Arreola, any version. But whatever think what you want.
Arreola has a chance againt Povetkin because Povetkin is a ****en bum. Arreola has no chance against Wilder. None!
