You've got to be kidding me. He couldnt toy with a strong mobile fighter like he did with Arreola. Now if there is anybody there with the skillset idk.
Ok, Who!!!:? Ya sooner or latter sure he may loose but their is no one out their now, Vitali is just that good....
He has nothing to complain about his opponent fought him with his hands at his side for 95% of the fight. How can you not land more than 80 punches when your opponent has his hands as low as VitKlit does?
Was the fight a disappointment, no Arreola did better than I thought he would, he stood up for 10 rounds when I expected 4 or 5. Saying that Arreola had no place in the ring with Vitali, he was nothing more than a slightly more mobile punch bag than Sam Peters was. The fight was in no way shape of form competitive. And to Rico, it dosent matter if Vitali had both hands behind his back as long as he kept his head further away than Arreola could reach
Why doesn't arreola just cut his damn weight down... he is such a lazy mofo... you never get anywhere in life with such a lack of discipline and he is a bad example for any youngster out there. His heart and determination was quite touching but the guy needs to grow up.. he got by on his natural ability for a while but please... even James Toney was in good shape for the majority of his career
Already said this, but I'll say it again. California is the mecca of bodybuilding. Find a damn trainer and train hard for the next six months. Reshape that fat body into something lean, mean and hard. Arreola made a lot of money from this fight, so he can afford to do that. Fix the body first. Then develop speed. With speed will come more power. Then re-challenge for the belt. If anyone can do it, it's Chris.
He used an renown boxing nutritionist for this fight. He could have started at a better weight, but he just doesnt have the overall skills. The entire division with exception to the Klitschkos is on the level of Francois Botha and worse.
I completely agree with the OP. After all this talk of offering up an exciting fight with lots of drama, Chris could bring nothing to the table. He wasn't in control of the fight for a second. Yeah he kept trying and coming forward, but he failed. I'm getting kind of sick of people making excuses for him just because he "had heart" and tried. I agree, he did "have heart" and did try, I don't think anything bad about him personally, but he failed miserably. We need to stop "taking our hats off to him", because we're settling for less.
lol that entire post if way off. Arreola showed alot tighter defense in this fight than I've seen from him before. He also kept trying for the entire fight...Arreola went out on his shield and gained alot of respect Saturday night. I predicted he would be KOed by round 2...but he showed me alot. And Vitali is very beatable is he? Well then smart guy who is gonna do the beating? And don't even say Haye because anyone with any sense knows thats lunacy.
The thing about Vitali is that it's easy when watching him to formulate the gameplan to beat him. The problem is that there is no-one out there good enough to actually implement it. The division has the powerfull plodders (Arreola, Peters) the general no hopers (Ruiz etc) The guys with skills but not enough power (Gomez, Johnson) and the guy who has it all except a chin (Haye)
He did what he could and lasted longer than most thought. And he gave it his all. Props to him. BTW, if he had managed to turn it into a brawl, toe to toe, he would have got KOd in the first couple of rounds. Same as the majority of Vitali's earlier victims.
Arreola was a disappointment if you were living on fantasy land. That fight was lost in the gym. Hopefully Arreola will learn from the experience and start training to become a real contender. He is as tough as they come, but you need more than toughtness to defeat disciplined boxers like the Klitschko brothers.
