I could've sworn Arreola took the fight on short notice-to replace David Haye. Maybe with an extra 3-4 weeks Arreola would be able to finish the fight, however, he would still lose. I thought his best chance would be to rush Vitali and throw bombs, probably would've still gotten knocked out, but the fight would've been more entertaining.
CA had a better chin then I though. But at the same time, Vitali punishes you. hard punches over and over that do the damage unlike Wlad who at anytime can 1 punch KO a guy. I thought it would go 7. CA did better then I though. while chris did well and kept comming, I dont think Vitali is getting enough credit for his defense in the fight. CA was frustrated, lost and confused at to what to do with Vitali.
NO NO NO. CA had a full 6 week camp plus a couple weeks prior for presser and such. CA had enough time. :deal It wouldnt have matter if CA had 52 weeks to get ready. It would not have helped against the Vitali that showed up IMO
It's funny how people said the same thing about Tyson's opponents when he was blowing them away. Frazier, Berbick, Tucker, Smith, Ruddock, Thomas, Biggs, Tubbs, Spinks, Bruno, Williams all turned into "bums" once Tyson beat them. Gotta love fickle boxing fans.
Great point...great point buddy They are "going to KILL the Klitschkos" then they lose and the same guys come back and call the same fighters "Bums"..............SAD:verysad
I was actually surprised Arreola was able to hang in there with Vitali for as long as he did considering he was only fighting with one hand. I can't believe it was never brought up in the broadcast that Arreola was not punching with his right hand. If he would of followed through with a right cross upstairs following the jab to the body, he would of put up a much more competitive fight. I'm guessing he hurt his right hand early on or maybe even before the fight in any case Arreola did what was expected of him considering the low expectations most if not all boxing experts and fans alike had for him.
Excuses are like assholes... everybody has one. Arreola threw the right when he could. He usually could not because he was being hit in the face too much. He had a hard enough time getting a decent jab in without taking a shot to the grape.
Anyone who was dissapointed has never seen Arreola fight. He did exactly what he was excpected to do. Did you think that he was suddenly going to develop footwork and head movment from his last fight to this one?
the guy is a fitness trainer NOT a nutritionist. BIG difference. CA needs to keep the weight down all year not up and down between fights
No he was not.He fought better than I thought he would. Nobody gave him a chance anyway and he ain't that good either.
By no means am I making an excuse for Arreola, but go back and watch that fight, there were plenty of opportunities for him to follow up the lead jab with a right cross but he just did not do so. I would like to know how many times he actually threw the right hand the entire fight, I'm guessing less than 10 times and I figure such a low number has more to do with an injury of sorts than Vitali's offense.
